Prayers for my little Pixie

That is good news indeed! Will continue to keep Pixie in my thoughts but what a relief that it isn't kidney failure. :hugs

Yes, infections can usually be beaten with time and meds...kidney failure can't be. Having lost 3 previous doggies over the years to kidney failure I know all too well how heartbreaking those final months are. I am so thankful that this is not my little Pixie's current prognosis.

Again, thank-you everyone for all the good wishes...and for now joining in to be happy for my little Pixie as she starts to improve.

Awesome news!! Made my day!!:biggrin2:

Thank-you, RikyR.

One of our previous little dogs (tri sheltie boy) who we lost to kidney failure was named Cody...just like your precious "angel" boy. When your Cody passed I grieved along with you...so many memories.

So happy to hear some good news about Pixie

Fingers (Lanie) and paws (Echo) crossed for Pixie's speedy recovery.
Sending more healing energy.

After a couple of days when Pixie seemed to feel a tiny bit better, she rapidly went downhill. She is currently in the hospital and today they are doing another ultrasound, a biopsy of liver tissue that will be sent to Cornell for dx, repeat blood work as well as repeat urinalysis and fecal sample (which today had visible fresh blood). I am praying that what they find will be treatable. The head vet at our hospital came in today, he is on vacation this week, to devote the entire day to Pixie...we are so appreciative. Pixie is only 8 years old and already has 136 pages of medical files in her records...his comment was that he had never had a little patient with so many pages to her name and she deserved special attention...bless him!!

Pixie came from a family who got her as a "play toy" for their 8 year old son to keep him occupied while the parents were at work. By the time she was 6 months old she had been so mistreated that she was hiding from this boy and when she couldn't escape him she had started to nip him...so their statement was "she isn't any fun for our son any more and we no longer want her". She has never been physically healthy (they wouldn't say where they bought her...I am sure she was a pet store/puppy mill pup), but she has so much character and is one of the most deeply devoted and loving little souls to ever come into our lives. Pixie is my heart.

Trini - I hope the vets can do something so your little Pixie recovers. It sure sounds as though she is in excellent hands. :fl she gets back home to you soon.
