Flurry, you need to stop scaring your Mom like this!!!!!!!!!

Ann, I am so thankful that this doesn't appear to be anything serious, but what an awful scare your wee lass gave you. :( You and Flurry must both be exhausted after a long stressful night at the emergency vet hospital and hopefully everything goes well today and you can get some much deserved rest.

Oh Ann I'm so glad to hear that your back home and that Flurry is feeling a bit better! How scary! Hopefully she recovers quickly and none of the other dogs catch whatever it is she has. Piper caught kennel cough 2 years ago right after a show...sick for a good week and a half and quarantined for almost 3 weeks! Maybe some bone broth will help Flurry feel better?

Wow, can't believe you had to wait 2 hours at the emergency vet. That must have felt the longest 2 hours ever.

I actually can't complain about the wait. The vet who was there had a dog come in just before us that had been hit by a car and he was doing surgery. We saw a vet tech immediately when we arrived who put us in a separate room and took Flurry's info, vitals and temp, so they knew she wasn't in crisis. I was told then the wait could be 2 to 3 hours. I knew at least if Flurry got worse we were in the right place.

We are very lucky with the emergency vet here. It's quite near my house, and the techs and staff are wonderful. It's such a relief to have a 24-hour facility that you trust nearby. I know not everyone is that lucky and most vets don't have overnight hours any more.

Ah okay. Yea, you can't really complain about that. Glad they still took care of Flurry. And I hope the dog who was in surgery is okay.
 
OMG what a scare. It just takes years off your life, especially in a young dog whom you don't expect to suddenly become seriously ill. So glad it's nothing serious Ann, and really hope it won't spread to your other dogs. Ugh. Do you think it was the Canine influenza?

We also have an excellent vet ER about 10 minutes away - thank God, for those times you really need them!

She's been vaccinated for canine flu, and kennel cough. There's alway so much crud at dog shows that I keep all the show dogs up to date on those. The vet thinks it's some unrelated virus. But yes, scary for sure. Her temp is just above normal again now after being lower this morning...I'm on pins and needles.
