You are indeed lucky re the ER vet. Ours is about 35 min away. And very expensive.
 
Ann, I cannot say how relieved I am that Flurry is going to recover. I can't imagine what she picked up! With the fall shows in full swing, this is extremely concerning -- ours is the end of October. I'm certainly keeping Layla away from the show dogs this time (unless Kim brings Vinny, because he LOVES her).

I am not surprised at all that you keep your dogs up to date on all vaccines... Just hope whatever FLurry contracted passes soon! Keep us posted... inquiring minds NEED to know!

Morning report: Things are looking good. Flurry is pretty much back to herself and most importantly, her temp is normal! She's still a bit off her food, but I'm hoping that will pass. We have a regular vet appointment for bloodwork next week, so if anything isn't right she'll be checked then. Thanks again to everyone for your prayers and good wishes...this was scary.
 
Well, scratch that. She didn't eat again tonight. Not a single bite. She has no temp at least and seems fine. I'm going to withhold everything and try again in the morning. The problem is that she's on a special home-cooked diet for her skin so I can't even try different foods. It's this or nothing.

I also heard today from one of my vet tech friends that she knows several other dogs at the show over the weekend who got sick, also with high fevers. Geez, even these outdoor shows are a petrie dish. Thankfully, so far no symptoms in anyone else here.
