In the city of Findlay Ohio (city next to me) the petland was shut down YAY! Unfortunaly in its place is http://yournewpuppyllc.com/ BOO! I went in there once. I didnt know they sold dogs. As soon as I walked in the smell hit me sickness and diahrrea  I exclaimed very loudly that I will not support a puppy mill store especialy one with sick dogs and walked out.

Oh my goodness. I went to the amazenfarmyard.com website and not ONE of those pups look like a pup should - they look utterly miserable! The poor babies :(

A few friends and I are trying to raise puppy farm awareness here too. But some of the sheltie owners who bought their dogs from one particular known sheltie "breeder" are actually PROUD to have gotten their dogs from this guy coz the sire is a "canadian champion". :rolleyes2: Right. If that were true (and I sincerely doubt it), I really pity the breeder who sold his dog to this guy here. The females are all shaved down and if you ever request to see them you are always given an excuse - they are always either nursing or resting or around the farm somewhere or cannot be disturbed. And EVERYONE BELIEVES THE GUY. Oh and what really amazes me is that these owners actually think his is an "EXPERT" because he can breed large litters of 8-10. That's coz he's using MULTIPLE BITCHES! I really really don't get these people. And mind you, these pups are not sold cheap. For about the same cost as what some of these pups are sold for they could bought one from a good breeders overseas, import/export cost included.

I suppose one thing we have a problem here is the lack of good breeders to go to. Which makes the choices very limited for those who want a pup but dont' want the hassle of getting one from overseas. And there aren't that many shelties in the shelters. We're in abit of a conundrum. Where do we tell puppy buyers to go to?? :confused2:

Also, on the PupChannel website there is a woman who sells yorkies and boston terriers from a kennel named Darlin' Dandy Kennels. I actually worked at the service desk at my job with this woman, and had no idea she was involved in that ring of puppymillers. She was a hateful sort anyway. :rolleyes2: I'll never understand why they let cranky people deal in customer service.

Romeo, it annoys me when people act proud of their BYB dogs and their puppymill dogs. I love Smudge more than anything in this world. I'm proud of everything he does. Am I proud of where he came from?

Nope.

Would I suggest this "breeder" to a friend?

Nope.

I'm also glad you pointed it out about the large litters. I've noticed that before, also. Smudge's mom had five puppies, but I have no way of knowing how many puppies this dog produced before or after Smudge came. Five isn't that unusual maybe, but when the number is higher on up there...that is a red flag to me.

:mad::mad: I was of the understanding this was not to be done on sheltie nation KEEP TO THE RULES

I see a lot of puppy brokers on kijiji in my area too. This one is the worst

http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1IvFff/hickorydickorydogs.com/

They advertise all breeds and my sister in law proudly bought her dog through them.

Their web site is harder to find because they're making some pretty significant changes. They're trying to make themselves sound more reputable, but reading the contracts and small print says it all. They won't take a healthy puppy or dog back either, under any circumstances, but I notice they've removed that fact from their web site.

Here's one of the ads posted right now for a Westie Pup. These ads really irritate me every time I see them. I can't believe my sister in law actually fell for this.

Here is the puppy broker, north of me. They gather puppies from the local millers whoops I mean UDSA professial breeders. :rolleyes2:They prices were more expensive. I'm guessing the puppies aren't moving as fast. Yeah!!http://www.amazenfarmyard.com/pages/puppies/puppies1.html

The number of sick(genetic problems and diseases) puppies I seen from this place, I can't tell you. They don't have shelties at the moment, thankfully. But look at the designer breeds.

First time I heard of them, had a client come in with a puppy they got from there less than 24 hrs before, it had parvo. Argued with a man for a half hour that my test was wrong and I was lying. Why would I lie? Nevermind the pup was vomiting and having bloody diarrhea. I finally got the guy to refund the puppy(note web site says no refunds) and what did he do when the lady took it back? Threw it back in the pen with the other puppies.

Alerted the local animal control(rural minnesota) who said. Cages were clean and dogs had shelter and food and water nothing they can do.:( The sick puppies still come. I tell anyone I can to avoid them,

DEAL OF THE DAY! ON SALE! I'm screaming here!

I'm not sure this is a puppy mill, but I think there is something very suspicious about this website.

http://www.illinoissheltiebreeders.com/

There is a version of it for every state and every breed.

And if you go to another state, and check out the Sheltie list, they're all EXACTLY the same list. That right there, is even more proof its a mill. If a large company decided to help breeders sell puppies in all different areas, I'd expect to see different puppies for every state. Scary.
