Rally Brag

Big WELL DONE to you and Callie!:biggrin2:

I would like to try Rally-O, but it has not appeared much in the UK yet.

CONGRATULATIONS, Callie. We have such talented shelties here on this forum. (and good-looking, too!) To: CalliesMom, I bet you are very proud of her. (& rightly so)

thanks everyone- I am very proud of her:smile2:
I was worried that we wouldn't Q- she required several commands every time that she had to sit- which occurred at several stations. and of course, we had the left finish and she has been pretending that left doesn't exist- she wants to go around to the right. we had to retry that station and then move on. so with all deductions in my head, I was sure that we didn't have enough points. I was so relieved when I walked over to the list and we had more than 70 points. We were the only team in Novice A that day to finish a title. I think one of the teams had finished the day before. When we entered, I wasn't sure when the trial would be over and didn't want to miss Cranberry's puppy class so we only entered one day. Before we got there, I was sure that she could do it in one try but when she was reluctant to do a lot of things that we had practiced, I did get a little worried. She also kept looking back at the judge- I guess she wanted to make sure that he wasn't getting too close or something :wink2:
now on to lots of off-leash practice- a whole new world for us
where we don't get to use our cool LBD leash

Ember worries about judges getting too close also. She doesn't really look at them but moves slightly away from them, ie slightly behind me on finishes or slightly off center away from the the judge or adjusts her heeling forward or back/away from the judge. It never much, but costs us several points. She only does it with judges who like to get up close and personal to judge fronts or heeling. I realized one day my instructor always stands about 20 ft away when calling patterns for us and rarely trails us during heeling so she wasn't used to it. I have had my friend play judge and crowd(about 5 ft away) her during training, it has really helped.

Good luck with the off leash training.
