Rally Training

All the best with the trial.

Just don't do what I did last weekend: in my exuberance at the end of our Novice course, I picked up Snap. Lost 3 points for picking him up in the ring. Nothing like learning the hard way !

Oh, wow. I didn't know about that. Thanks for the warning. I'll need all the pionts I can keep.

I almost did that to Ember. I got so excited, I think it was our AKC UD. I held out my arms and Ember went to jump in them and I remembered at the last moment and Ember hit my abdomen and slid down my body and plopped on the floor. :o I can't repeat the words Ember used with her eyes. For some reason she doesn't like to jump in my arms any more Opps.:uhoh:

I didn't even think about the ribbons. I always forget in agility that you go pick them up and that's that.

Ohmigod. Poor Ember. I bet she was steaming!

I just watched my video, I laughed when Miko lied down on our front, end left. I just went forward with it because I knew he was tired. Oh, and anyone watching, there are times where I'm treating him, so he's taking awhile to chomp before I move on. Like I said, this was our 3rd round, he was tired.

I feel like Rally is going to be all proper and stuff. lol. And there I'll be in my raggedy old agility clothes. I'll have to get someone to watch Koji so hubby can take a picture (assuming Miko Q's).

Rally is not as stuffy as obedience :wink2:
but they are usually held together and at the end of every class, all who qualified are asked to come back into the ring and everyone gets their green ribbon and those who placed get their other pretty ribbons/prizes. Rally is great because shortly after your run is complete, your score will be posted next to the ring- so you will know very quickly if you qualified.
Most of the judges say something or have it on their course maps about not picking the dog up until you leave the ring. One of Callie's failure to finish the course times, the judge told me not to pick her up but walk her holding her collar to the exit. not sure why it mattered then since we already weren't finishing the course

Cheryl!!

You didn't change the countdown :) It's 2 days now :wink2: See you and the boys tomorrow afternoon!!

I heard about scores being posted really fast, I was surprised, but happy. That means I shouldn't have to wait around long for scores and ribbons (we're probably last). I'm getting excited!

Miko is looking good- he looks happy walking around the course. it's all looking pretty good- I'd say you'll Q no problem

Thanks! I'm hoping so. We'll lose 10 on the "walking around" ones, so I'm hoping to NOT have any of those. But the rest of it, our trainer said we'd only get points here and there taken off but we should be fine. Let's hope so. I'm bringing my netbook, so I hope to let you guys know how he did on Sat.

I saw that too. :p
I changed it to say Saturday since I won't be here to change it...just in case I don't have time to do it on the netbook or my phone.
Which also reminds me, time to charge up the camera! Need to get some Sheltie photos!

Good luck- will be checking in for results :smile2:
am actually going to an obedience/rally seminar this weekend- hope to find out all the good secrets
