Recipe for Sweet Potato chews

I must have done something wrong mine didn't turn out chewy. However, the dogs loved them just the same. Finley loved them so much he ate the entire bag. Unfortunately,I left the ziplock bag of s.p. chews on the counter while I was outside training the other dog. I was a little worried that we'd find out in the middle of the night that sweet potatoes are nature's laxative but, there were no problems. I think I will try baking some in chunks to use for training. Rusty could use a low-cal treat.

Sweet Potato treats made in dehydrator?

This forum has got me looking at making all kinds of treats for my Finn and Sadie! I was wondering if anyone has made these seet potato treats in a dehydrator - or anything else for that matter. The cookbook that came with the dehydrator has a recipe for Turkey & Sweet Potato Treats for dogs I was thinking of trying. Worth the effort????

Made these today, and Daisy is crazy for them! Thanks for the recipe! I sure enjoy watching her chew and chew on them!

Jesse loves them!!

I made the sweet potato treats this weekend and they are gone already!! He loves them!! I have another triple batch in the oven right now.

I made these also this past weekend! I found it easier to handle them when slicing smaller potatoes into round disks vs strips. (I cooked mine until crunchy.)

We have a hit in our house too! :biggrin2: Now they are under my feet & beg every time I open the fridge. :uhoh:

Omg moment!

Yesterday I baked two sweet potatoes for my girls. I needed to find a new treat, low sodium, to use after giving Miss Maddie her pills. They loved them.

Went to visit a friend today who raises Shelties so I took some of the treats. Four of the dogs were in the house and I made lots of friends, LOL. They all wanted more and looked extremely pathetic when the bag was empty.

This recipe is a keeper.
