I trawled through a few older posts for some tips yesterday (thank you sheltie nation forum search!) Moved his crate to the sitting room. Partially covered it. Put food in - tried him for twenty minutes while I was there. It went fine. Had to go out for a while later on. Left light and tv on and popped ticking clock near him. Took food out and popped pee pad in. Placed him in crate - he was fine and relaxed when we got back. Rest of the evening he kept popping in and out of there. Popped him to bed at 23:30. He woke me up with yips at 5:30 for the bathroom. He verbally lets me know he has to pee/poop now (mistakes happen when we are in bigger spaces, but I catch him and pop him on the pad). Took him out but I made some mistakes, ie petting etc so he was too excited to go and went on his pad at some point between then and when my alarm goes at 06:30. Still, last night was much better, he was much happier and I recognised my mistake. Its a learning curve really and I think I have more to learn than him!
He is eating well and going good with his tricks. Loves to play. It really is great to have this forum to get advise from. Its amazing what a few small changes can make! Thanks all!
