Sheltie found after 20 months on the run

Great news, hope the heartworm treatment fixes her up. My Kasey was gone for 20 days and he actually gained 1/2 lb. One thing I'm wondering about. Did the person who bought her know she was captured and did she agree to the breeder keeping her?
 
I would guess since the owners didn't notify Katrina that the dog had been missing for 9 months, and only did so when she called them, they pretty much had moved on. Also, in our contract it states that for any reason the owner can not keep the dog, it must be returned to us. If we are able to re-home the dog and money is exchanged, then I pass that on to the former owner. But if the situation is that the best place for the dog is where no money is exchanged, then they agree to surrender any rights to the dog. It is spelled out very clearly. Knowing Katrina, I would bet her contracts read similar.

I'm with Janet....Lost pups are the worst, because you can't let go. When they go to the bridge, you can keep their memory in your heart, but release the rest.

Janet, I'm so sorry that there is still no word on Angus. :cry:

I do believe that the new owners bought another dog within two weeks of Aspen getting away, and never looked back. They moved on. It was the breeder who persisted.
 
Tears a flowing, what a wonderful outcome. Now it is past time for Angus to come home! What a lucky mom to of found her Aspen and bless that man for keeping an eye on her.
