Sheltie Weight...

I have this treadmill for me and the dogs (less for me, LOL). It was inexpensive, it's compact and it's great for keeping them in shape when I can't get out to walk them. They learned to use it pretty easily too! I put them in a harness and sit next to them with a leash.
that link didn't take me to a treadmill......... it went to outdoor deals

Thanks, don't know why it did that! Try this one....
That one worked.
I'm going to look at a used treadmill tomorrow morning (a former client's sister in law is selling one). A Pro Form older model but only $100.00. At that price if it lasts me a couple years I'll be happy. Maybe help me get some weight off Piper...the first couple weeks after I fell at work I wasn't able to walk them (my wrist and hand) and come winter I hate going out in the cold! This will help keep them in shape!

I finally got a fairly accurate measurement, so here is Kip’s updated data.
16.75” and 22.6 lbs.
According to that chart (the yankee Sheltie site, not Caro’s chart) he is way below average for weight. But obviously that chart doesn’t have enough data. I think he’s a healthy weight

Edited: He is also somewhat below average on Caro’s chart.

he may be like Jocu and just doesn't gain extra weight. Jocu would probably be closer to that weight if he wasn't longer but he's maintained in the 28-30 range for a long time - he was over a year old before he hit 29 lb.

You're right Finnie - Another one of mom's crazy inventions:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I'm actually surprised that Finnie took to it so easily. It's my goal that they'll want to go on it daily and I won't have to have them on leash (I'm sitting in front of treadmill keeping an eye on him). Definitely not there yet but they were both on it yesterday for 12 minutes and both did great. You have no idea of cold it gets here...I'd sometimes wait for the temperature to warm up a bit (if you want to call that warmer lol) to -15 but that's not counting windchill!
Here's a short video of Finnie ....
