Southern Sheltie Get Together~

Looks like it will be just me plus Sasha and Newton on this trip. Alan has to stay put to take care of the house and non-traveling dogs; Russ was informed "no one gets off the 4th of July weekend" by his boss. Alan is trying to talk me out of coming (HA, not going to happen) due to the length of the drive on a holiday weekend.

I won't be able to bring Emma as she is more of a handful than I can manage in the car by myself (even crated). I can manage Newton and Sasha just fine. I just need to check out the harness situation to see if I need to buy a new harness or two before the trip.

I'm hoping that I can bring something FUN too...not sure what yet so there's no sense in guessing.

Gosh I looked and looked for one of those really cool childrens pools, that has a sprinkler in it.I think someone here on the forum just got one,but I have had no luck.

I kinda had my doubts if Russ would be able to make it.I wished he could, would love for him & Eric to meet each other. They would get along wonderfully.

And drats that Alan can't come. Will really miss seeing him,but we understand.

McKinley is really a little porta pup.

Thanks to missjenneygirl's early training of taking puppies back and forth between Connecticut and Maine, and then all the day trips that we do and canoeing, MMM has no issues whatsoever with motion sickness.

Boopka, I will take you with me to the ends of the earth and back, if you will just be my girl.:o MMM

The treat bags look awesome Michelle- we'd come just for those
I seem to remember some mention of desserts way back in the beginnings of this thread- that's worth the drive too......
wussy people not taking a little drive- it's 10 hours for us
and we will hopefully be getting to PA in Aug- that's 12 hours on day 1 and 6 hours on day 2.
All three dogs are awesome in the car- pit stops are a little more challenging- was definitely easier with just two.:wink2:

I have to keep Ron out of the potato salad! Good grief. He would rather have that than the cookies sitting here.

Michele your treat bags look so cute and fun.

13 hours. Hmmmmm 13 hours.....McKinley could you do 13 hours in the car?

(Hopefully all of you don't mind me nosing in on your thread)

we've all been keeping up with your northeast thread so not a problem
we will be waiting for your pix before we have our party- then we'll know what we need to do to top your gathering :biggrin2:

One more count:

1. Michele, Brian, Eric, Lynn (Earnhardt, Trapp, Jasper, Lexie and Lucie)
2. Janet (Sasha and Newton)
3. Jessica, Freddie and kids? (Ember and Phoenix)
4. Katherine (Snap and Capers)
5. Chelle, Thane, and Chelle's parents (Abbie, Duncan, and Pierre)
6. Calliesmom (Happy, Callie and Cranberry)
7. SheepofBlue (Sca)
8. Ashley and Jonathan (Bentley and Lexi)

And Sheep and Calliesmom...what are your real names?!?!

18 people, 20 dogs, 12 shelties *whew*

I'm bringing:

-Chips
-Drinks
-Dessert (probably something simple to transport like cookies)
-Chairs
-Sprinkler

And I can bring jumps if need be, but I think Katherine has that covered. I checked and the a-frame won't fit in the car with the dogs plus chairs, etc.. :(

We will plan on arriving around 11, if that's okay with everyone.

I'm bringing 4 "travel" jumps --- smallish diameter pipe, but sturdy enough for our shelties; the tunnel; and tire. It's all knock-down (Affordable Agility) stuff.
