The Adventures of the Little Red Caboose

Today Cubby is 20 weeks. He is 15-1/2 inches tall now and 17.6 pounds. One ear is tipped. The other is partially tipped. We still have the full dark blaze though there is definitely a darker widow's peak. We start school next week. I don't think he really is mentally mature enough, but it will be good experience even if we redo the class before going on.

I totally understand your fears about Cubby being ready...cut his size in half & you'll be in my shoes!

I'm just gonna believe that they will both be rock stars!

We got our sit/stay/okay combo well this evening Down nothing doing. Once I lure him down, he will stay til I say okay though. I still have 5 more days to get that in line.

It will vastly help being in a place where he has nothing to do but pay attention. On our deck, he wants to eat the oak leaves!

What a day! We went to a friend's house who also has a G-scale railroad to run our trains on his layout (we do the same, they come to our house and their trains here).

I left Shay & Melli home and took Cubby for a short time. OMG. Mr. Social Butterfly! He went immediately to a teenage girl for pets (looked like the girls who raised him as a bitty pup). Then he went to everyone for pets, bits of food, kisses, and sat on their lap. He was quiet and just delightful. EVERYONE adored him. I am SO proud.

Even better -- and we came home and it RAINED! YAY!

Couldn't resist a pic now that Cubby can STAY.

So proud of this. Shay sat and froze (ears up this time thankfully). When I told Melli DOWN Cubby dropped down -- what a good boy. Melli will stay in a down til Jesus comes. When I hand signaled Cubby up into a sit he DID and then WAITED. YAY.

Now I know why Liz (trainer) had me skip basic with Melli. How basic is basic! Wow. Seemed harder when I did it with Shay. We are already signed up to begin intermediate the night we graduate from basic. I am going to put him straight through as fast as scheduling allows. PS -- I KNOW our friend is a doodle but their last two were airdales so this might be a step up.
