The Dog Who Will Eat Anything

Yes Shelby will eat anything too, and she is quite the opportunist, taking advantage of any chance she gets. Now that she is older it is just food she goes after.

I remember walking her as a young pup. I saw she picked something up and thought it was a tree branch. When we stopped for me to see what she had, it wasn’t a stick....it was a big dead bird. She was so proud carrying it around. She’s had her share of rabbits, mice, snakes...you name it she will eat it.

Funny though - Deska is sooo bad with stuff on the ground (I never realised how many chicken bones end up on the ground-do they grow like grass?). But if I drop a carrot or similar he doesn't scoff that down, although he'll lick lettuce.

Oh ick! Though I could totally see Skylar doing that too.....

Spirit won't go for a vegetable. But Skylar will. Heck, the dog thinks plastic is delicious.

And Skylar Faith strikes again. I'm not certain, but I think she ate a bee. I called the vet and they said the only real danger is an allergic reaction - that actually swallowing the bee won't injure her intestines or anything like that. I gave her a good dose of Benadryl and am watching her but she seems fine (albeit a little drowsy from the Benadryl).

OMG! That is super scary!!!

Thank goodness there was no allergic reaction!

When Laddie was a puppy he got stung on the nose!
He got a huge blister. His face looked really bad for quite some time until it healed.

Bee stings are nothing to take lightly!

Yep, I immediately raced back inside and called the vet's office. My worry was that the bee hadn't actually stung her, and she swallowed it with the stinger still attached and it was stinging her stomach. But they said that wasn't a problem - it was only if she was allergic to the bee. So I gave her 25 mg of Benadryl even though she only weighs about 15 pounds. She's been sleeping ever since but she looks fine.

That is scary! That's what I worry about with Finnie, Piper and Riley don't bother with them but Finnie the monster is quite fascinated with bees and wasps!

I worry about this as well as Eli likes to watch bees and has snapped at a few... hope your little monkey is OK, Cara!
