Tully's hip replacement

Thanks all. I'm dropping her off tomorrow - long drive to Sydney then I have to turn around and come home without her, which will be hard. I'm not allowed to visit her until Friday. She had diarrhea yesterday so I'm hoping that will settle down, they wont operate if she has a tummy bug.

Hoped to have a nice quiet walk this morning - but then a hare jumped out of the bushes and she was off. At least she got a fun run, she wont be running again for a long time.

So I dropped Tully off today, it was so sad to see her little face, all worried and sad. And of course on the long drive home I kept getting images of how awful the surgery will be (I can stand any watching type of surgery except orthopaedic surgery - it's so brutal). I just wanted to turn around and bring her back home. Unfortunately she got diarrhea a few days ago so she'll be pumped with antibiotics and metronidazole in case she had a tummy bug.

The vet said he'll call around midday with the news and if all goes well she can come home on Saturday. Because she is young and healthy they think she should be okay to manage at home. It's the drive that worries me - 4hours, and I'll have to keep Deska away from her and there's lots of roadworks and bumpy bits. Not sure about putting a crate on the passenger seat because of the air bags.
