Urgent! FOUND COLLIE. Need advice & info ASAP

Wow! What a difference between then and now. He really is a handsome boy. I really hope someone wants to take him home soon.

thanks!

Ania!
Thanks so much for the update, Christmas Collie looks like a billion bucks! I hope you feel great about what you did, especially now that you see how well he is doing in Hilda's care.
You're awesome :) So is Hilda, and the Christmas Collie is too :)

Bless his heart, for what he has been thru. What an amazing transformation of Christmas collie. He looks awesome.

I pray that he finds a forever home soon.

I just got an email from Hilda, the lady that runs the collie rescue, about the Christmas collie that I found. He is doing well. Gaining weight and even playing with the other dogs. He even has a bark (I thought he was debarked, but he was just so weak, he could not bark) She managed to get all the mats out, without having to shave him. He still does not have a home, but I pray, now that he looks so handsome someone will want him.

(oh and his 'owner' was found a month later and contacted Hilda, but thankfully relinquished him to her care. The owner said that the day I found him, is the day that he got loose! Imagine! How can they even admit to keeping him in such a horrible , deplorable state?!! And the kicker is, that if the owner wanted him back, by law, she would have had to give him back. The only thing I can say, is the the collie had angels around him and God on his side, that the owner decided she did not want him anymore)

Here is one picture of him from December, and two from February:

Wow! He looks like a completely different dog. I'm so glad you found each other. I don't think he would have lasted long without finding YOU. Wish I could take him in..;-(.., but I have every confidence God's Angels will guide him to a wonderful, and loving forever home ;-). He's already better off than he was with whomever it was that he lived with.

Christmas Collie Update:

I just received an email from Hilda from the Collie rescue that took the "Christmas Collie" in. This is what she wrote:

Hi Ann,

I just wanted you to know that the poor old boy passed away last night. On Tuesday his face was suddenly very swollen and he was having a hard time breathing. We put him on antihistamines which helped a bit but he was very confused and disoriented. He had been having trouble walking for a while and often fell because his back end was getting weak so the decision was made to help him ease his pain. At least he had almost a year and a half longer. My vet even said that although he was deteriortating at this time, he still looked much better now than he did when I first got him. I was with him until he fell asleep for the last time.

Hilda

I wanted to thank all of you that helped me with him and sent donations in his name. He lived out his life at the rescue. Thank you everyone, I know we made a big difference in his life.

Even though I only knew you for a few days, you've touched my life and I thought of you often. I hope we will meet again one day...until then, I hope you play and run and bask in the warm sun. My little guy Dorian is up there - I hope you two find each other and wait for me. Rest In Peace Christmas Collie.

Thanks for sending this update....even though it is so sad it is settling to know that he had at least one good solid year of happiness. Thank-you Ania for all that you did for this old guy.

 Ann, thanks for taking the time to make sure he was well cared for. He knew love before he left this Earth...and that is saying a lot.

Re: The Passing of the Christmas Collie

Ania,

Thank you for the update. So sorry to hear of the Christmas Collie's passing. I remembering hearing that he had gone to a family and had to be returned to Hilda. Sounded like he was happier living out his days with Hilda and being able to play with the other collies that stayed there. He loved Hilda. I am happy to hear that Hilda was with him when he passed over to the Rainbow Bridge.

Ania, thanks for rescuing him and getting him on the road to Hilda's wonderful collie rescue.
