Wait... what? Puppy?

Blueberry went through a phase at 1 1/2 where she would pee in the house and with 3 dogs if you didn’t see it you don’t know which one is doing it! I swear I was cleaning up pee EVERY DAY…I was ready to scream! Then I caught her in the act…FINALLY…and was able to put a stop to that. Then the following summer again same thing…but this time it was 2 dogs…no way all the pee was from one…this time it was Blueberry (now 2 1/2) and Piper (he had a UTI)…so very frustrating but there hasnt been a repeat for over a year. I think the best thing to do is continue the random rewards even as they grow up so they don’t forget. That’s the one thing that has helped keep Blueberry (and the others) in check…she’s very smart and as much as she knows to pee outside at times I think she figures it’s just easier to go in the house. And then one does it so suddenly another dog thinks welll…..

We still, after 3 years, find a spot where one of the furries just decided to not bother going outside..I have my strong suspicions as to who based on the shape of the spot and of course it has to be on the rug- not wood floor. I have a Hoover spot cleaner vacuum/washer that has saved my life and most of my sanity. I use the soap in the wash side that supposed to break up the urine smell(?) seems to do a good job. It has been worth its weight in gold for the way it cleans things up but probably a good idea to reward them going outside too. It is raining all day today and my girl just wants to go out and do her chipmunk patrol and of course she loves the towelies when she came back in all wet...

Brodie is my stinker... if he's not kept outside for the long 'I need to find a perfect spot' routine he will opt to poo in the house, always in the same spot. Deacon is too much of a snob to stoop to such a gross thing!

Brodie's routine for pee includes 3 turns to the right here... nope let's try 3 turns to the right over her.. nope! let's run to this new spot in the yard... 3 turns to the right, nope! This goes on and on until he finds a spot, squats like a girl, then lifts his left leg towards the end. Poo is easier if I haven't picked it up, he will run back and forth until he literally is forced by his body to squat to poop - always facing away from me because he doesn't want anyone to look at him while he poos.

With winter maybe approaching, I've taken to giving Deacon a treat right when he goes, then NOT treating Brodie but telling him 'quick, quick' to see if I can get some urgency into him to finish so we can go back in. Deacon, unlike Brodie, will immediately squat a force a drip out every single time if it means getting even a crumb of a treat.

I could tell by the long pee trail that it was Dixie- the boys go in one place and make a pee puddle, Dixie pee walks so I can at least narrow it down that way:winkgrin:

10 weeks old today and ready to run the joint if you asked her. 7 lb and a bit over 10 inches, she was wiggling so not totally accurate on height. Clipped her nails today and she was fine with that. Took her over to my Sheltie friend's house, she has a small agility field. Well, Juno chased after her Sheltie and ran right through the tunnel 4 times! No fear this one. :ROFLMAO:
