Yet another Update...Blaze

Good advice

I appreciate you taking the time to answer so quickly.

Yes, for the longest time I fed Blaze once daily, however since he has been ill I have been feeding twice (morning and evening). I am not giving treats at the moment because I don't want to risk his road to recovery. Once he is "out of the woods" I will be more apt to try the peas and as you said carrots. The raw carrots would no doubt be good for his teeth!. And as both are sweet he is sure to love them.

We went for a little walk and he is doing well so far today :) here's hoping it's a good sign and it continues.

Rice isn't always the best option. One of mine had a major tummy upset coming out of show... I put him on the bland chicken and rice diet... and his tummy didn't improve until I took him off the rice... go figure. :rolleyes2:

Funny!

Actually I had started to do some searching on my own this morning, and I did come across the Wellness food Core but when I saw the 10-12% crude fat I kinda figured it would be ruled out. But I would have to ask the Vet what she would consider the "highest" limit of Fat content I could allow for Blaze. On all the various cans of low fat that I have here (3 kinds) it states a minimum of 5% on the r/d one..."what does that mean"?....

So I think the one you suggest would be one I would consider if I was "allowed" under 12% fat.

Understood

When Blaze started throwing up...the rice was the only thing he kept down, it ended up being my only answer. Guess it depends on the pup.

One step at a time. Baby steps. I don"5 give max any grains, because of the yeast infections. I do clean his ears with diluted organic vinegar and water. We wipe his feet when he comes in from outside.we have to wait two ore weeks to c if his spec cpl went down from 1000' and his thyroid. Remember no fat, low fat and is to digest, that why small meals more often especially right now.
