Poor little boy... I feel so bad for him. The trauma of losing a limb is bad enough. Having pain in his remaining hip is heartbreaking. I hope the can find meds that allow him relief without compromising his awareness. Like human pain killers... They can make you unsteady on your feet. As he is adjusting to only one leg, I am sure he will need all his awareness to adjust. Please let me know what the vet recommends.

I have been using a massage therapist for Mr Chance as he is not steady in his hind end. The therapy has helped a great deal to relieve his stiffness and provide more blood flow.

Not sure if could help ... But if your vet might allow it ... It is something to consider.
Hi Gloria, thanks for thinking of Sketch. We have had a set back...hopefully something our vet can help us with. Sketch has always had hips that weren't serious enough that he couldn't live a good life without surgery, but now that all his back weight is on one hip he is showing pain in that hip. He was moving better the day he came home from the hospital than he is now and it is breaking my heart to see him struggling. As soon as our vet office opens this morning I will be calling to ask what we can do for Sketchie. I will let you know what our vet suggests...he is a wonderful, deeply caring vet and I know he will pull out all the stops to come up with something to help our Sketchie boy.

How is little Sketch doing today? I hope a bit better.
Thinking of you...

In between his many naps!!!
Thanks again for your support and prayers. I know that is what got my boy home... All the positive thoughts and prayers. Have a great evening and give Mr Mally a huge hug and kiss from me!
You are very welcome. I honestly was so busy last night, but I made sure to take the time to check in on you guys before I went to bed. It is a scary situation. I am just glad Laddie is doing better and I will continue to pray that he stays that way. :)
Thanks for the moral support and especially the HUGS!!! Will make sure to give him an extra special HUG and KISS form you guys... I have never felt so relieved!
Good call on your behalf! You were thinking on your feet... which under the circumstances... you are to be commended!
I hope she recovers too. She is slowly getting there. As for my temper, I held it back because my 10 year old daughter was with me. She was already upset over Cleo and I didn't want to make her worry about me too.
So sorry to hear what your Emmy is going through. At the Central Illinois Sheltie Rescue there is a vet, Dr. Jean Dodds who is an expert on sheltie, skin allergies. If you call with question she will return your call. A friend of mine recommended her a few years ago.
Keeping Emmy in my prayers for a complete recovery.
I just posted to your thread about Cleo being attacked! I am so sorry you all had to go through this! Give her a big hug and kiss form me and the boys! My prayers are that she eventually will recover with no ill effects. You are one brave mom to have held your temper! I would have exploded!
