Baileys problems!

Well, that is bitter sweet news, but I felt that is what was likely to happen. The "honeymoon period" didn't last for them.

Good luck and God bless you for taking this baby back and conducting a search to find him the right home for him. I am so relieved that he is not going to be crated for 10 hours any longer!
 
I think I would be a bit cranky after being in a crate 10 hours a day. Glad they did decide to turn him over to you. I am sure you will find him the perfect family.
 
I too had my doubts whether they would keep up with the training or not. Oh well he will stay with me until I find him the perfect home. I am just glad it will be all over with and I dont have to worry anymore if they was going to keep him.
 
He's back!! I have serious doubts that they worked with him at all :mad: He is back to the same way as he was when i first got.

They said his behaviour got worse over the last few days. He has started biting them when they put his collar on, spins and lunges at cars again, licking the floor and has started peeing on the floor. Oh and my favorite complaint... he is tearing up his stuffed toys! :lol:

Do you think it would be a good idea to change his name? He doesnt respond anyways when I call him, so I am thinking they have nagged him so much that he just tunes his name out.

Oh and the best part they got him groomed at petsmart. They chopped all his mane off, feathers, pants, and tail and I do mean chopped!!! He looks terrible. :(
 
oh brother, petsmart haircut! Just tells you those people are nice but clueless:uhoh:
anyway I am happy that he is back with you even with short pants:biggrin2:
 
I think a new name, and a new attitude would be exactly what he needs. Just put all that bad behavior behind you, and start fresh.

I know whenever I act bad, I always wish I could change my name :wink2:
 
A new name would be a great idea, a new start for him. I am so glad he is back with you and shame on those petsmart groomers. Does not sound like they worked with him at all.
 
Oh the poor guy! Imagine how frustrated and confused he is. I'll bet he does tune out his name. I'm sure if you are calm, firm and love him up he'll start to feel more secure and happier soon. Don't know which he will recover from first...the bad hair cut or the crazy behavior, but I'm sure you'll be able to overcome both!
 
Sounds like a good idea to go with a new name, based on the nagging he has recieved from them. It's like in agility, if you use their name constantly 'bailey jump, bailey here, bailey jump, bailey climb it' then when you really need it, it has little effect.
Yuck... a petsmart haircut :P I guess they thought they were doing you a favor? Most groomers need to get a clue.
This area was blessed with a groomer who happened to be a sheltie person for a long time. She wasn't a conformation person, but she could trim them correctly. Shame she doesn't still groom. She did a much better job than the rest around here who seem to understand nothing of grooming shelties
