Chronic tummy problems

What anti-nausea pills are you giving Deska?

When Laddie had his cancer and pancreatitis attacks he was prescribed Cerenia. It was a super expensive medication but it worked great.
I know vomiting is about the worst for him as weak as he already is and you can't risk him getting dehydrated!

I know it is excruciating for you both... take one day at a time...

Took him to the dog club with me, he was happy to have a potter around after assessment. He's panting a lot and pretty exhausted - i forgot to get pain relief.

The CT will give me a more definitive answer about whether it's worth operating - taking out his spleen and gallbladder. The vet today took a biopsy today to see if it's a metastasis (and therefore not worth treating). However, because the spleen bleeds a lot she could only take a small one. She (his usual vet) thinks it is unlikely to be treatable and I need to be ready to say goodbye. She even wanted to know whether to take the biopsy or end his life then. Of course not! We have lots more cuddles to fit in, people to say goodbye to, places to watch the sunset, cuddles and more cuddles

I don't understand how 6 weeks ago he came back with a perfect abdominal ultrasound and perfect bloods. It's so much so quickly.

Here he is, my darling beautiful boy. My soulmate. Now it's time to sit on the couch with him and have a cuddle.

Caro, somehow I missed so much of this story -- please forgive me. I am heartsick as I read through every single post and realize that Deska has been so ill. Please give him a cuddle and kiss from me -- my love to you both.

(By the way, our Bitsy Boodle is slowing fading with her slow-growing cancer. Our philosophy is, give her anything she wants, short of stuff like chocolate and grapes.)

This morning Tully and I got up but Deska stayed in bed. I went to check on him a couple of hours later (with trepidation) but he was just laying with his eyes open breathing heavily. He isn't asking for breakfast, but neither is Tully. I tried to give him Ondasatron for nausea but he kept spitting it out. Some of it melted in his mouth so he got a bit and I don't want to double up and I've only got 3 left. He's asleep near the door now.

I'm afraid unless he perks up

i am sure in his weakened state he just wants to rest.
Hopefully, as Cindy says, he will feel a bit better after his nap.

He still hasn't rallied. Tully has a grooming appointment at 12.30 (it's 11am now). She really needs all that extra coat out. But I think Deska has had it. I gave him another nausea med, and I've been looking for the pain meds all morning (finally found them). He did eat something and not throw it up, so it isn't an obstruction. But he's tired, he looks up at me when I move around and wants bottom rubs, but he is so very exhausted. He doesn't seem to be in pain.

Tomorrow is Friday and it's a nice cool day (it's hot and muggy today), it might be time. I don't want him to be in a refridgerator for days at the crematorium, I wish he could hold on until after new year. I may not type much for a while, too heart broken.
