Chronic tummy problems

Caro, so sorry to hear about Deska! Sending prayers that he is OK. If it's GB he'd be having symptoms you couldn't ignore, like constant vomiting. Not to say he isn't working on a mucocele. When you get the ultrasound it should tell you exactly what's going on. We are all thinking about you!

Oh gosh..when it rains it pours!
Give deska (and yourself) hugs for me and Gavin..it's gonna be a long night for you no doubt.

I totally understand the $$ thing. Vets are more and more becoming a business. A friends' GF is a vet at a clinic, and they make a % of the procedures' cost that they bill. Like salespeople. And having spent $800 on PT appointments for my dog only to have the vet throw throw their hands up and be like.. we don't know what's wrong maybe its neurological..if you have pet insurance how about an MRI?

That's terrible Cindy! Too many clinics are now owned by bi big business and they've lost all the compassion! It's all about the money and fee schedules and they have an order of tests that MUST be completed...they have to do x,y and z even though they believe it's 'N' that's causing the problem!
I'm fortunate I live in a large city so I have my choice of vets but not everyone has that option. Sad.

Slept on the couch, Deska decided to sleep in the bedroom! Funny boy, he's always by my side during the day but doesn't want to be with me at night. He was quite restless all night, but that could have been age. I didn't get much sleep. On the plus side though, I think the couch is better for my back than the bed.

He dropped most of his breakfast on the ground this morn, which Tully promptly ate. That is probably the most telling thing he is very unwell - Deska is obsessed with food (that's bold and underlined!). I used to say I would know it was Deska's time when he stopped eating so it's pretty scary. Mind you, when I took the food out of the bowl he then stood there wondering where it was. He was just barking on the back porch though so that's a good sign

Now to decide if I skip walking Tully and the cats - Deska didn't want to walk at all yesterday. It would be better to leave him at home because neither he nor the Burmese like to share the stroller.

Gavin doesn't sleep with me either! He will usually go to sleep in the living room, wander into my bedroom around midnight, then leave around 4 AM IF i give him free reign.
I don't, I make him stay with me cause if he can't get into the bedroom he scratches the door to come in. He doesn't do that to get out (go figure).
He is more restless as he has gotten older, or I am sleeping lighter? Usually starts around 5AM when he would rather be in the living room.

I wish we could all make Deska better!
