Dog Wheelchair

Hmm.. I looked and didn't see anything, which doesn't mean anything. His front paw pads looked and felt pretty normal. It could be walking in the cart stresses his feet in different ways, though. Or it could be the cart itself feels better on grass. Or it could be he is looking for goose poop! I have tried booties on his back legs and it didn't seem to have an impact (he still preferred the grass).

Lots of maybes :) I am just trying to get my boy as many happy walks as I can!

“I am just trying to get my boy as many happy walks as I can!”

... and we know he enjoys every bit of time spent with you and the great outdoors!
Keeping his body and mind going strong!

This morning he seemed very perky like he wanted a walk. we are currently on an every other day kind of schedule, but I will take it as a good sign.
He could be walking better, but at this point I don't trust myself to draw that conclusion. Sometimes he limps less than other times, but overall I don't know if it's a huge improvement.

It has been very cold for the bay area, dropping below freezing at night. Extra cuddles with mom who doesn't want to leave her warm bed in the morning :) This morning Gavin was very upset I closed the bathroom door on him during my shower (to keep it warm!). He was trying to push that door down for most of my shower..took me a while to figure out what the noise was as he wasn't pawing at the door but head butting it or something similar.

The new Gavin-mobile

his wheelchair fits on the back of his stroller. we took the stroller to the local park this morning like this.
The path was pretty iffy at times so Gavin needed more help than normal navigating it.
It was definitely more of a casual sniff and stroll walk, and a bit shorter than I'd prefer but he seemed to enjoy it.

I think just getting them out, letting them sniff and enjoy the fresh air and external stimuli is so important. All of our dogs always wanted to go, even very near the end. Gavin is lucky you are so attuned to him and thoughtful of his life from his perspective.

As for the shower - I can just imagine it. Our petsitter told us years ago she was NOT allowed to close the door while she was showering or Ally would have a fit. Lucky for us our petsitter is pretty indulgent, LOL.

Nothing is better than walks with mom! Sniff, walk, sniff, walk, check mom is watching, walk, sniff, repeat!

Just love when Gavin looks up at you with those sweet eyes and endearing expression!

I guess next time Gavin gets to be locked in the bathroom as you take your shower!!!
He is so very bonded to you!

Rule #1
No closing the bathroom door:ROFLMAO:! You have been warned by Gavin lol.

I'm certain Gavin was quite happy about that lol!
If I try to keep Finnie and Piper out of the bathroom they're not happy campers! But I absolutely HATE how they want to lick the water off my legs...ewwww...like nails on the chalkboard how it makes me feel:ROFLMAO:! Darn Shelties!
