Dog Wheelchair

The wheelchair is in the shop. I was filling up the tires with my bike pump and one of the valves just came out. So I had to order new innertubes (and tires while I was at it, they are pretty worn and the bearings aren't the best anymore). They wont show up for a week, so I will have to use the old wheels for a while. Those are not nearly as nice (think bigwheel tires) so I am not sure what we will do. But the wheelchair has lasted about 15 months or so before one of the innnertubes gave up the ghost.

Can’t you order the new tire from the company and have it shipped overnight? Gezz... you would think these replacement components could be ordered separately and shipped to the customer!

shipping is $$$$. as in overnight being $50. they do sell all the parts luckily. the inner tubes are only $9 each which isn’t bad. i just went ahead and got new wheels since the tires do have lots of wear

replacement innertube has a straight valve stem (the original was angkled) and no pump can get into the spokes. So I had to order an angled valve adapter from amazon. its cheap, but I am annoyed the company did not mention this when I ordered. And the tubes are no longer on their site for sale. I can find them by searching but they can't be ordered.

I ordered new wheels at the same time so we wouldn't have down time in future, but an $8 innertube is a lot more reasonable than $80 new wheels for people. I am not happy that other people will suffer if they can't afford the difference.

the wheelchair is from handicapped pets....the wagon is a costco special.
the new wheels include the strut and new bearings. the older set is perfectly functional, but one wheel has a slower spin. probably rust from the beach (Although we do hose it down every time we go).

Gavin has the BEST LIFE EVER! He deserves every bit of his special care. Gotta tip my hat to you for being the most caring sheltie mom.
He looks so good! ... and happy too...

You have to imagine that he is so happy to be mobile. Getting out seeing and smelling new things keeps him young and engaged!
