Exciting Puppy Prospects

Oh, and this is weird but I thought it would make you laugh. So... our dogs have voices. You know, when they are looking at you with such knowledge and you just put into words what they are definitely thinking? Okay, whatever, I'm strange. Duncan is the Sheriff, Pierre is ... French. And Abbie? Apparently she's got a bit of a British accent. I can't tell whether it is British or hoity-toity New England...
Lol! Cadbury should have a Shropshire accent technically, but he has become a Suffolk dog with a proper country accent.

All my pets have accents from the guinea pigs right up to the sheep!

No news so far, but my experience with breed clubs is that they take forever to get back to you.

Post their info. We'll hunt them down for you!

Then we can potition Kelley to change your screen name to Labgirl Pro.

Let us know how it goes!! I need to get some pics of those tiny UK Shelties.

I'm from New England- I really hope it is a British accent!! That's one reason I go to England, to hear British people talk- I love it.

Yesterday I was walking through town and I spotted a lady with two blue merle shelties. Well of course I rushed over:wink2:

Her girl dog was 10 and a dear little thing, her male dog was only a year and he was such a sweetheart. I was smittened! He wanted to be fussed and licked my hand. She said he was a real cuddler and loved being stroked.

Both dogs were so calm and chilled despite the bustle of town and loads of people going passed. She said it was the first time she had had a male dog and he was the best dog she had ever had.

Well, I asked where she got him and she gave me the name of his breeder, not too far from me and best of all this lady is into agility and breeds her dogs with that in mind.

AND she is on the committee for the Eastern Shetland Sheepdog Club. I have now got in touch with the club to get her contact details.

Hopefully I can get on her waiting list, because I would so love a pup just like this little chap I met.

Who knows, maybe my ideal pup is not so far off now:biggrin2:

Good luck!!! Nothing cuter than a sheltie puppy

The breeder has got in touch with me so now I have emailed her back with the details about what sort of pup I am looking for:yes:

If you want to look her up put 'Linda Chubb shelties' and you will get some of her agility results.

I don't know if that tri sheltie, Oscar, is hers, but if it is...

...HE IS SO HONKING CUTE! :eek2::yes:

Leo the sable is hers, because I saw some show results where she had run him. So I reckon Oscar is too.

Her dogs are just stunning, dainty, but handsome. The merle I saw had the most perfect markings - I don't know much about showing but he seemed to have the perfect look to my eyes. His tan markings were in exact symmetry on his cheeks and eyebrows. I so wanted to steal that dog:biggrin2:

Let's hope she has a little blue merle boy for me:wink2:

BTW, I just re-ran the search and this post appears on the first page!

I have noticed that too. If you do a search that includes things posted on this forum, you will usually find sheltie forum in the top few.. WTG Kelly on marketing Sheltie forums!

I saw that, too!

I am practically wiggling in excitement for you! I can't wait for you to have your own Sheltie and be able to whine about herding and such! Aaaannnnd that Sheltie pup is going to be so lucky to have you for a mum.

Good and Bad news

Aw, thanks Chelle.

Well, there is good and bad news. The good news - Linda has got back in touch, given me loads of info and wants me to keep in touch. Her brood bitch is a blue merle who she only mates with tris, so her litter would only contain merles and tris. So good possibility of a suitable dog there.

The bad news?

She has no breeding plans until late 2011:(

She has given me the details for the EASSC puppy register so I can keep looking for pups, but it is a blow as I loved her dogs so much.

So the next question is, do I wait?
