Gavin has an external growth on his neck

I will have to post a picture tonite. Gavin is getting a bandage change every 12 hours. His tumor gets gauze and then his neck is wrapped with vet tape. today its purple, yesterday it was pink.
The collar was taken off as soon as I found the situation. I think he needs a new one anyone as his old one is kinda gross right now.
Wrapped with ❤️ Love.
Sure hope it is something easy to remove and margins are clean!

Well, Gavin's tumor doesn't fit neatly with those pictures. Visually, it looks most like a histiocytoma although it is less of a button appearance and more of a mushroom appearance.
The attachment to his skin is smaller than the circumference of the tumor and the tumor is a bit more irregular in shape. And I know mast cell tumors can look like just about other kind of tumor. It is healing up nicely, less blood on his bandage this morning and mostly just ooeziness. Most of the scabby bits have come off.

The vet's voice when she told me it was a tumor (cause I hadn't seen it once it had been cleaned up....the whole Covid thing) told me volumes though; she probably thinks its an aggressive mast cell tumor.

Cindy, I can only imagine how emotionally hard this is for you as you wait for an actual dx. You have been and continue to be Gavin's angel, making him the focus of your life and giving him such loving care and support. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers...and Gavin too.

I also wish you and Gavin the best of luck and that it is treatable! You have both been though so much. You are soulmates and no one could have loved or cared for him more than you! Indeed, you are his guardian angel.
