So today there was lots of blood and exudate on the gauze. There isn't really any blood, just the wound fluid. I had to wet the gauze to get it off without removing the scab (It seems to be kinda floating on the wound). So I put on a band aid since the pad bit is not supposed to stick. Since there isn't much fur at all on his little leg, it works. I should have though of it sooner! It is covered by gauze, then vet wrap, then the sock.
We are passing on the beach this weekend because of the open wound (we'll go to the dog park on the bluffs again), but I am hoping next weekend we can maybe try the beach again.
