Gavin's dotage

Gavin is a wonderful dog that he allows you to do all you do for him. It makes me think though of nature vs nurture…is he the way he is because of his temperament or is it his life experiences…also reminds me of the fable of the lion with the thorn in its paw. You’ve relieved Gavin of so much pain that he trusts you inherently. Either way it shows his love and devotion he has for you and it truly warms my heart.
 
I know what you mean about the vet. Even my ones that have hated going to the vet have been so cooperative, the vets and vet techs always compliment them. When Faith had that imbedded foxtail the vet was able to probe the hole without sedating her or anything. He was pretty impressed.

That's what I'm getting at. Having calm and well behaved dogs is preparing them for a better life and to accept help from people.

No Gavin thread is ever too long! Some of us are big fans of Gavin and Cindy's care of him. If you feel it is too long, please do skip over. I'd hate for Cindy to back off on her postings. Even if I don't come on and read every post every day, I do read every post about Gavin to catch up. I have learned so much from my time on Gavin threads and hopefully, not only will that change my care of my boys as they age, but I hope to have a 'Cindy' as I age too!
