Have to decide how to handle serious illness!

We all want the best for our pups, and we all want the best for each other's pups.. Hearing how tormented you both are about Fasb's decline has been heartbreaking.

But he will much be happier going to sleep in your arms than passing anywhere else. Our babies try to live longer for us, they know how much we need them, but it sounds like he needs you to let him know he can go...

Susan and Mark, I am so sorry for the heartbreak you are going through. Fasb is so blessed to be your boy, a lifetime of being loved. There is no easy way to face letting a precious soul go, but when the time comes that there is no hope for any real quality of life left it is the kindest and most loving gift.

Whatever your decision tomorrow...please know that you have many online friends here who will be with you in spirit.

Thanks Trini for your post... I really feel you have captured my thoughts and emotions.

I also want to offer my prayers to you Susan and Mark. Fasb understands you only want the best for him. I wish you both all the love and compassion at this very difficult time.

Mark and Susan, I'm sorry to hear Faab is declining so quickly. :( We've all been there, having to make that tough decision. Please know that whatever happens all your friends from SF are right there with you.

I'll be taking him to the vet soon. Unless something unexpected happens at the office, we're going to let him go. No improvement with the things already mentioned and he generally seems listless and sad. Some behaviors in the past day or two that concern me. He's been a little hostile with us. Also, he seems to be trying to stay away from us. He's started going to unusual spots to lay. Trying to get under furniture or into tight spaces. Generally going to the far corners of room.

It's time before he suffers too much. With the kidneys as bad as they are, it seems unlikely he can get back to where he was 7-10 days ago.

I'll be thinking about you and Mark today Susan. I know how hard this decision is and how much you will miss him. He will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge and will be the happy healthy boy he was until this cruel illness took him from you.

Peace.

So sorry to hear this. I've enjoyed reading your stories about Fasb (since I'm also I'm an accountant, I laughed when I first saw his name). Will be saying a prayer for you guys that you'll be able to make the best decision for your little guy and that you'll have the strength and peace to deal with whatever that decision is.

Mark and Susan,

My heart just aches for you today. It sounds as if Fasb is trying to let you know that he has tried his best but no longer can be with you. Animals have a way of hiding and trying to be alone at the end.

You were great sheltie parents and did all you could to help him through and now you must let him go to the Rainbow Bridge. Virtual hugs to you both. :hugs

We all are crying tears... I am so sorry. Blessings...
