Forums Sage
Welcome. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your new puppy.
Re: housebreaking - take out after the puppy eats. I took Emma out every hour or so or if she acted like she wanted to go out. When I was at work, my dad did the same. She was trained in a week.
I never used a crate for any of my puppies. They slept on the bed until they were old enough to sleep on the floor.
Have lots of toys, lots of treats. They want to spend time with you. Don't be afraid to cuddle with them.
Take LOTS of pictures. I didn't with my Noah and regret it. I just couldn't get him to pose for a picture. It just wasn't his thing. With Emma, since she was borh on Sep 21, since I have had her, I take pictures every 21st of the month, just to document her growth.
Find a good vet that you can trust. Don't be afraid to change vets if you don't or the puppy doesn't feel comfortable.
Above all else - enjoy. Pick the name that suits your puppy's personality. You'll know when you meet him or her.
