How do you keep a Sheltie off the bed?

You get a b/f or g/f that's a great big meanie, and won't share the bed with you and your two dogs!

No joke! The boys know that if David is there (whether at home or at the cottage) then they are not allowed up on the bed.

Don't get me wrong....they love Dave...they just know that the bed is his space and not theirs. very different when he's not there...it becomes their space, not mine! What's wrong with this picture?!

LOL. It was the same way at my house when I first met my husband. Now that he has been broken in the girls get to sleep on the bed. :wink2:

I give it another 6 months....and David will allow pups on bed in the morning.

He babysat the boys this week for me and I keep catching him giving them treats and table food, even though I tell him not to. And he keeps cuddling even the devil dog, Indy! I think he is besotted!

It took Asta years to figure out she could jump up on the bed - now if we can't find her we know where to look - she kinda gets a smug look on her face. Ally won't jump up so we lift her up, whereupon she hogs my husband's pillow and becomes the HEAVIEST ever 17 pound dog!!!

They cuddle with us while we read before bed, but then they have to sleep on their own beds. Just not room for 2 peeps and 2 bed hogs on our queen bed!!

When we got married I had my first sheltie Lady whom had slept with me since she was a wee puppy and my husband was not sure about having a dog sleep in the same bed.... well she did but she was one to get on the bed and then get down till morning but she would not go to sleep till she got to lick his foot for while.

So be honest do I ever win or should I just escape while I still can?

Can't escape, just let Sca win there, too... Like he won on the rest of the furniture... Consider new more dog friendly bedding for yourself, with less buttons and stuffing :biggrin2:
Of course I consider that also a test factor if I am dating anybody, if you ever wanna sleep in mah bed... you better like the Sheltie sleeping there, too... LOL
