Justus and Flyer 2018

Wow, Masters just doesn't come easy for me! Four runs with Justus and I had 1-2 IP's each course! Lordy Mercy! We were in the ribbons 3 of 4 times because everyone else was struggling with IP's too! Two yellows, a white, and the always grateful for single green flat ribbon...

I sat him when I should not have, didn't when I should, and did not pause on the moving stand pick up... I saved course maps, circled the signs I blew and will work on those!

Flyer ran 4 Excellent classes, 99-98-98-87 (oops!) Two red ribbons, a yellow and a simple green.,.
One the 2nd trial we picked up our first RAE leg, it was the only trial we entered both Ex and Adv, because at $27/22 and 9 runs, well that's as far as I could go with out breaking the bank...

I am very proud of qualifying in all 9 runs...

Lots of time to practice rally, Flyer is going to Ohio in June, our entry in RNC accepted! So exciting, even more so because Calliesmom is going too!

Congrats- that's awesome getting all those Qs. yes- the Masters signs are challenging. I worried about the jumps but Cran did them in his first 2 runs. we need to brush up before March- our next rally trial is first weekend.
so excited for Ohio:fl:pop:yes:

Flyer is now PCDX! He finished his Preferred Companion Dog Excellent in three trials. :) Proud of this guy... Now we wait for May to try for his regular CDX. Justus has started on his Preferred UDX, he has one leg. :D

Not much going on these next few weeks, time to read up and get familiar with the Rally Excellent signs, June 29th is coming! Eeek!

Congrats Flyer on your PCDX (Preferred Companion Dog Excellent)! Outstanding! You have made one happy mom in the process! A big Sheltie Nation shout out congrats to you!

Now to can teach Justus the ticks of the trade!

Go team Flyer and Justus!
Videos possibly making it to Sheltie Nation for out viewing pleasure? :pop

Thanks everybody! Now that the March madness is over, we have very few events to attend. I'll be in Perry GA for Mother's Day, working on that Masters for Justus and getting Flyer ready for RNC.

Calliesmom, looks like we will be sleeping in the van in the parking lot! Geesh, every room in Wilmington that allows dogs is booked. I'm on the wait list for three places.

It was about 6 a.m when I left my driveway in North Atlanta, headed to the last day of the Peach Blossom Cluster in Perry, Ga. I knew that a line of rain was approaching, but I wasn't quite expecting what we got and that I would be in the thick of it for hours and hours!!! The interstate was closed about 45 minutes south, all lanes blocked with multiple tractor trailers overturned and clean up would be long. I was thinking that if I could get off the freeway, I'd head home.. except, that one little stubborn thought.. but it's a dog show and I'm entered and I want to go!

So... I found my way around the mess and arrived at the show site 7 minutes after the Master Rally class had started. I went in and could move to the end of the class of 5 dogs. I did not get to walk the course but this very nice lady took the time to describe it for me and that was an awesome relief! Speaking of relief, I got Justus from the car and we were rain soaked immediately. I offered him a slim strip of grass to relieve himself on ... he said no thanks its too WET out here! So we dashed inside and took our turn.

The judge and I pantomimed mostly, the rain was furious and on the metal livestock building roof it was loud! Way...tooo...loud. I got her hand signal to forward and we were off. Double left about, sit-side step and into a 270 left to a (I forget) in the corner and back to a moving down walk around. a left and the jump, call to front - about turn forward to the rest of the course I forget... I did hear his bark - bark - bark... and opps, the judge heard it too. ;) So we got Master leg # 6 with a 95 (-3 for barking) What was really awesome about that run, it was the first Master leg that I did not IP!!!

Flyer was up next in Rally Excellent. Totally forget that course, we had a 97... I was too slow on the forward from a down and the judge said that I should move faster because Flyer was moving into a sit. opps. Thanked my lucky ? star that wasn't an IP.

Flyer did Rally Advanced with a 98 for RAE leg # 2. Good boy!

Justus missed the metal article in Preferred utility, darn! He did great in Preferred open, and when we were done... I had two red ribbons, two white ribbons and soggy damp dogs, shoes and socks...

The drive home was almost as miserable, made better with a Starbucks stop and puppichino's for the dogs, and a latte for me. :)

Next up.. Perry for Mother's Day.

Hope you are all out making your dreams come true!

WOW - FABULOUS turnout for a horribly stressful day!
You have a stronger constitution than I!

High Five to you!

we had the rain/storms on Saturday- herding practice was cancelled... we did get to play on Sunday though.
awesome job for the stressful day- congrats:yes:
I know what you mean about you paid for it- you want to get your money's worth:winkgrin:
Justus will have his Masters before us- we only have 4 so far (and none with a score like that) and the 2 day/4 trial weekend that we went to last year is the same weekend as the RNC this year so we won't be able to get any Qs there.
