Liam at the emergency vet!

Ok he has very common, treatable infection! Good news! The metronidazole works fast, I bet you see marked improvement tomorrow. I hate to see them feel so bad, but if you got a dose to stay down you're on your way.
You reminded me to get some electrolyte water on hand--my husband drank the last of it.
Vet is aware you have more than one dog? Usually here Koko starts first, then Fil catches it then Benny. I feel like a mom of three preschoolers here sometimes--where we go one, we go all!

Unless they gave you something like Hills Canine ID at the vet, I wouldn't even feed him soft food right now. I'd do chicken and rice, or turkey and rice...something really bland until his stomach is settled. Then you can add in some soft food. Some plain white rice with baby food from the little jars mixed in is great to start with for these issues. And water only gradually, as you know until he settles.

Hope tomorrow is a better day for you both! :hugs
Good morning, Ann,
Yes, the vet gave me 6 cans of Hills Canine ID. I just added a tablespoon of his kibble.

I was in bed at 8 as I was totally exhausted!

Got all of Liam’s meds in him this morning. He ate breakfast. A little more than what he had yesterday and ate it all. Did not throw up last night or this morning and thankfully no diarrhea. He is sleeping now!

He is still really subdued but seems to be on the mend!

I sure hope the others don’t get it! They said it was not contagious. Only if they eat his poop!

Gloria, thankfully it sounds like slowly your boy is on the mend. He must be exhausted and will probably rest more than usual, but a good update for Liam...and hopefully you were able to get some much needed sleep too last night.

Glad you both got some much needed rest! Hope he continues to feel better. Great that he kept his food and meds in - hopefully after another day of rest he will regain some of his energy. Gosh it hurts to see them down!

Great idea with the baby food! Will keep that tucked away for future use. Electrolytes... what would you give? Goodness mine are so picky about drinking! They will do water and broths, that's about it.

So glad to hear that he's eating some and resting quietly! That is good news. After such a bad spell it will probably take him a few days to get back to normal. I hope you're catching up too and taking care of your eye. Happy to hear you had a restful night too! These doggie illnesses can do us in as much as our pups.

Yes, Trini! Went to bed at 8:00 and slept until 6:00!
We have a partial power outage so had to try and get hot coffee!
My electric stove barely put out enough power. My microwave doesn’t even warm! Not a storm in site!
Yes, Liam is just still exhausted! Poor guy tried to jump on the sofa and couldn’t make it. Had to help him. I am just glad he is home and feeling better! ❤️❤️❤️

I swear, Ann… we just hurt right along with them!
