MISSING: Georgetown KY - FOUND SAFE!

Wonderful news! We are all breathing a sigh of relief. Tell Monet he is grounded for a year!! He's got to stop scaring his mom like this. (But give him a big pat and a hug first...) :smile2:

Oh my gosh... I just got a call from a lady who saw him this morning. She said he looked terrified. I am going to go check it out. I really hope I can find him!! At least I know he's still alive.

Please keep praying that St. Francis will help him find his way home - he's sticking more to the backroads.

All I can say right now is, "PRAISE GOD"! for the sighting. Continuous prayers going out at this end and keeping the faith for Monet's safe and quick return!!!
Please continue to update when you are able, thanks.

I am also praying for you and your family for strength and endurance for all you are having to go through at this time. The Lord has all of you covered!!!!

Now I want to shout now is H A L L E L U J A H!!!! Thank you Lord for Monet's return. I also would like to thank everyone that was a part of the rescue.

I am so happy I am crying "Happy Tears"!!! Monet, please stay put. No more running away, please. Stick with your Mommy. She loves you so much and so do we here on the Sheltie Forums!! You are like one of our doggies to us. It truly broke my heart when you were gone. I wish I could give you a welcome back hug. Maybe your Mommy can do that for me.

Mally says, "Woof-Woof", meaning NO MORE RUNNING AWAY!!!! And Mally means it!!!!!

Yes, God is so GOOD!! A miracle and truly a blessing today!! Monet’s Mom and I met on this very site a few weeks ago and decided to meet up at Pet Smart to let our dogs meet and greet (amazing how God brings people together). I saw last night on this site that Monet was missing and called Lisa immediately (Monet’s Mom). My grandson, Emma and I jumped in the car and off we went to Georgetown!

I was so sad that Monet was not found last night and coming home my grandson said to me “Nana, my heart is broke, Monet is lost and we NEED to find him!!!!” (Grandson will be 4 next month). So this morning, back to Georgetown I went to join Lisa and her wonderful Mother!! I am so happy that Monet is now safe and with his Momma!!! It truly was a heart warming moment to see it when Lisa finally had Monet in her arms!!!

I really think that Monet remembered Emma; but it was his Momma’s voice and the much needed treats that drew him close enough to hold. Man, I cried on the way home!!! Telling Emma all the way home “please do not run away from me!!” It is too heart wrenching!!

I agree with the one poster that said Monet will have ALL the bells and whistles on before he goes out again…in fact does he really need to go out? ..Possibly toilet training him would make us all feel better. LOL Again! Praise Jesus!

OH....and now ALL those signs that need to be taken down LOL!! Well worth it!!

Cindy! Thank-you so much for taking your own time to go out and help Lisa. It looks like your dedication worked out. It is definitely a miracle how people are brought together.

Monet must be so shaken up this evening. I hope that he settles down quickly and that he never does this again

I love happy endings

I just cannot believe I lost him not once, but twice... and that we found him! My dad had already lost hope and mom and I were starting to...

Oh yes, a GPS collar is on the agenda. So is microchipping and neutering. I am having trouble finding a GPS collar small enough to work with him... I want something that has a longer battery life than most offer as well. I am looking into Radio Frequency Tags as well. I may just get both, lol!!

Mom wants to visit a behaviourist and see if we can find what's wrong with him and if we can fix it. Any suggestions for a good one?

He's doing well, I bathed him (he smelled to high heaven!!) he just needs to be de-burred. He's currently crashed out completely next to me. I'm fairly certain he did not eat much in the 3 days he was gone, because he wanted to eat anything he could get his paws on. I hope he realizes how good he has it. The good news was, he was more willing to come to me this time - it did take me some time to catch him, but he didn't flee at top speed like the last time he ran off. And once I had food, it was pretty much all over. It only took me 3 pieces of one vienna sausage before he ate it out of my hand and let me grab the piece of leash dangling.

I'm so glad the retractable leash is gone. I was terrified he would get stuck somewhere and die out there, hungry and alone. I will never, ever use one on him again. I prefer to be able to double and triple wrap the leash around my hand, haha!

The saddest part about this all? The first lady who called told me my puppy was ugly! Oh well. I'm glad she didn't want him. At least she called me though. Her description was "Well, I knew it had to be the same dog - he definitely fit the picture. And I just remember thinking he was so ugly! He looked real scared too."

The important thing is he's all fluffy, doesn't stink, has a full tummy, and drank a lot of water. He's back where he belongs - sleeping next to me. I can't thank you all enough.

UGLY!!!!???? Did you by any chance save that number!!!??? LOL NO BODY tells a Momma that their baby is ugly!! Geesshh.... He is absolutely beautiful!! Ugly my rear end!! Hummpphhh.....ok, well like you said, she "did" call...so I will give a pass to her "ugly" comment.

Glad y'all are resting and snuggled up together!! Emma is wiped out, on her back, legs up in air and snoozin'!! LOL

Everytime I saw this thread I was hoping for the addition to the title that Monet had been found! I'm so happy for both you and him!!!

And ugly?! Who tells someone that, even if it is true, which it certainly is not. No tact!

Snuggle with your boy and make him promise never to run off like that again.
