MISSING: Georgetown KY - FOUND SAFE!

I just cannot believe I lost him not once, but twice... and that we found him! My dad had already lost hope and mom and I were starting to...

Oh yes, a GPS collar is on the agenda. So is microchipping and neutering. I am having trouble finding a GPS collar small enough to work with him... I want something that has a longer battery life than most offer as well. I am looking into Radio Frequency Tags as well. I may just get both, lol!!

Mom wants to visit a behaviourist and see if we can find what's wrong with him and if we can fix it. Any suggestions for a good one?

He's doing well, I bathed him (he smelled to high heaven!!) he just needs to be de-burred. He's currently crashed out completely next to me. I'm fairly certain he did not eat much in the 3 days he was gone, because he wanted to eat anything he could get his paws on. I hope he realizes how good he has it. The good news was, he was more willing to come to me this time - it did take me some time to catch him, but he didn't flee at top speed like the last time he ran off. And once I had food, it was pretty much all over. It only took me 3 pieces of one vienna sausage before he ate it out of my hand and let me grab the piece of leash dangling.

I'm so glad the retractable leash is gone. I was terrified he would get stuck somewhere and die out there, hungry and alone. I will never, ever use one on him again. I prefer to be able to double and triple wrap the leash around my hand, haha!

The saddest part about this all? The first lady who called told me my puppy was ugly! Oh well. I'm glad she didn't want him. At least she called me though. Her description was "Well, I knew it had to be the same dog - he definitely fit the picture. And I just remember thinking he was so ugly! He looked real scared too."

The important thing is he's all fluffy, doesn't stink, has a full tummy, and drank a lot of water. He's back where he belongs - sleeping next to me. I can't thank you all enough.

UGLY?? LOL...obviously this woman has ZERO taste! Her taste must all be in her mouth ;-). At least she does have a heart though...to give you a call. That's what's important ;-).

I was joking about a GPS collar.. They really make them?? Wow!! YES...Microchipping, etc. Our furkids wear 4 different tags. Their regular license, AKC Care tag, Microchip tag, and a personalized tag with their name, address, and phone numberS.

I'm so grateful he's home...I truly am.

The brand that is not for hunting dogs....and does come in smaller collars is the roamEO or something like that. I think it runs about $200.

Cindy it was so wonderful of you to go help find Monet and your grandson sounds so adorable. Bless you all.
I can't believe someone said he is ugly!!!
Sleep tight everyone.

Yes, God is so GOOD!! A miracle and truly a blessing today!! Monet’s Mom and I met on this very site a few weeks ago and decided to meet up at Pet Smart to let our dogs meet and greet (amazing how God brings people together). I saw last night on this site that Monet was missing and called Lisa immediately (Monet’s Mom). My grandson, Emma and I jumped in the car and off we went to Georgetown!

I was so sad that Monet was not found last night and coming home my grandson said to me “Nana, my heart is broke, Monet is lost and we NEED to find him!!!!” (Grandson will be 4 next month). So this morning, back to Georgetown I went to join Lisa and her wonderful Mother!! I am so happy that Monet is now safe and with his Momma!!! It truly was a heart warming moment to see it when Lisa finally had Monet in her arms!!!

I really think that Monet remembered Emma; but it was his Momma’s voice and the much needed treats that drew him close enough to hold. Man, I cried on the way home!!! Telling Emma all the way home “please do not run away from me!!” It is too heart wrenching!!

I agree with the one poster that said Monet will have ALL the bells and whistles on before he goes out again…in fact does he really need to go out? ..Possibly toilet training him would make us all feel better. LOL Again! Praise Jesus!

OH....and now ALL those signs that need to be taken down LOL!! Well worth it!!

Cindy, I truly do not think I can thank you enough for the help you provided. You, Emma, and Miles were all amazing. I think God does put people in our lives for a reason. LOL about the signs - but I'm so happy I can take them down!!

I am amazed she called him ugly too, but hey. I can't be too mad... She did take the time to call me and gave me a lead. Without her, it would have been another 5-10 minutes to get there and by then he may have left.

He definitely recognized Emma. It was nice. :)

He has been absolutely adorable tonight. He crawled up on my chest and laid flat out, his head under my chin. It was amazing. It's like a terrible dream that had a terrific outcome... You wake up wondering if the nightmare truly existed, while at the same time realizing just how lucky you really are.

I am trying to find a smaller GPS tracking collar, most of them are so big and he's so small. I've been looking at cat collars that have them, since cats are more his size. And I may get a Radio Frequency tag instead... Longer battery life, no monthly cost, and if he were to go into a tunnel or remote area I stand a better chance of finding him. I may just have to get both. LOL. I am not worrying about cost anymore. It's worth it for my peace of mind, and his safety.

Thank God and thank St. Francis for helping guide him to me - it's nothing short of a miracle. And thank you all so much for your support. It has helped immensely. :D

Ahhh...it warms my heart to know you and Monet are relaxing tonight and I know he feels totally safe now!

Call me this week and if all has calmed down for you and Monet we will take the fur pals to the Arboretum (spelling??)

I am so happy to hear he is home safe. It was awfully nice of Cindy to come to your aid. This forum has started many wonderful friendships.

I'm thinking the woman who called Monet ugly, probably owns a hairless cat.:eek2:
