Monty is coughing/choking almost none stop

Well that is great news! Sorry to hear you won't be trying to learn agility anytime soon, but after watching the 'catch' lessons, well, let's just say you might have made a good choice in not attempting! Haha! Seriously though, SOOOO glad it wasn't anything like the scary C stuff. Can the lungs eventually heal? Yeah Monty!!!! No more vet visits for at least a little bit!!!!!!

Ya think if they had seen him on day 1 this would not be the case? Just sayin...
I am very happy he is back home to recuperate.

Sorry for the vent... but, I am still upset... just can't help it.

Thanks Sheep, that's what I'm thinking. To be fair he only needs to be able to run around the garden, jump on counters and have long walks at a slow pace...that was his life before all this :lol:

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: You raise a very good point Sandy, his catching sucks and he has zero elegance and grace :lol:
They don't think some of his lung damage will heal but bah we'll prove them wrong. They said it's "unlikely" they'll fully recover, not "there's no chance" :biggrin2:
 
I'm so glad at the good news but must admit to being a bit hacked off still at the vet, if he'd been seen earlier he might not have the lung damage. But I can tell you in my own case, where I had a lung infection akin to TB (but not TB) 9 years of medication finally vanquished it but left me with some lung damage as well. But, I can still play softball, run the bases, work out, walk dogs etc without any real difficulty. Probably helps that we are at sea level too, LOL.

So I think and hope Monty's lungs will rebound a bit and even if he's not a marathoner, so what. It's lucky that he is so small and you can carry him if need be. Thank you for this good news update Darren. :hugs
 
Oh your daughters bond is hauntingly beautiful. That pic of her sleeping by him. The bond kids Can have with their animals Is such a testament to all that Is good and pure that is still here in this world. And that dogs can have such a life’s purpose and to be life changing To us humans. I am so grateful your girls ave him and vice versa

My son said monty looks like and dog who would like everyone.

I know what you mean Gloria, I've asked this and they don't think it would have made much difference if he had been seen that day......but they would have to say that anyways now I suppose. I'm not happy about it all but it's a big relief it's not something worse and I can manage this.
I will still revisit all this once the dust settles.

Thanks Sharon, Once this settles I will certainly get someone else to review if the 24hrs delay would have made a difference.
I think if we can get him to heal to even 75% then that will be perfectly fine. I never had running assault courses etc anyways so we'll manage. As you said he size is now an advantage as he's just like carrying a packed lunch due to his size and weight :lol:

Thanks Lisa, He's going to be getting lots of rehab so we'll get those lungs slowly back to the best condition possible. As you said at least the vets visits are shorter now so he can build his confidence back up and resume his plan of world domination :lol::lol:

Thank you Daisy, dogs are truely special animals and it is so heartwarming to watch them bond so strongly with the children and vice-versa.
Aw your son is right, Monty gets on with everyone, he never growls or barks at anyone (unless they knock on the door haha).
