More Mouth!

Geez Ann…9 teeth! Poor Lacey, I do pray he got the tooth (or teeth) that was bothering her!
Let’s hope this is the last of it and she’s feeling better in a few days.
Give Lacey a pat from me and a soft cookie when she’s up to it! I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers that this is the end of the mouth problems!

I wish I knew what was going on with all our dogs and their mouth problems lately. I am off to the vet this morning with Lacey, who has not been able to chew since Friday. She won't even take soft cookies, and when I touched her muzzle, she yelped. She just had a full exam last Tuesday with bloodwork, and she is in early kidney stage disease but that wouldn't affect her mouth.

I know she needs a dental, but those are booking months out at my vet's, so I hope they can do something sooner. Plus dentals, which used to be reasonable, are four figures these days. Between three doggie surgeries and a dental in the last two months and now this, my credit card is smoking. Still we do what we have to for our pups, and if I still have checks I must have money, right? :fl

Please send some good thoughts our way for Lacey.....
❤️❤️❤️❤️

It was a rough night. Poor Lacey was up once an hour panting hard which is a sign she’s uncomfortable. I got her second dose of gabapentin into her at 5 am and she finally settled down. She took a crumbled soft cookie this morning and had a good drink of water so I’m hopeful she’ll be on the mend today. :fl

She's had a pretty good day. Lots of sleeping, some panting, but eating just fine although I'm feeding her mush. Most important, she's getting her cocktail of pills in which will help with the pain. I'm thrilled to see her appetite is good and she's eager to eat! Gotta love that Sheltie food thing. I'm hoping for a quiet night tonight.

How is Teddy doing, Ron? I hope he's feeling better too!

Teddy is doing okay The area where the lump was is almost flat. He has about a 1 inch scab with a 1/2 inch area that is slightly red. Doing his ointment twice a day . He doesn't even seem to notice it.
So I'm actually confused a little, I was always under the impression that a cyst could shrink but it would never totally go away. It looks like this may disappear once it heals so I don't know We will keep a close eye on him till it heals and take him back to the Vet if I don't like what I see. So this time we are minor compared to everyone else's issues.
It's my dream for everyone to heal and we can talk about fun things for a while .

Glad Lacey's improved, hope it continues! And as for Teddy, a cyst is usually filled with clear fluid, not pus. Pus means an infection, so I would suspect he had a small abscess. And you're right, cysts often come back. I found a round bump on Eli a few months ago, and as I was lifting his skin up to see if it was attached to anything or just in his skin, it popped. So that was good news, we'll see if it comes back.
