My Anxious Shelties - Toby and Ginny - Updates on their Progress

Melissa - words cannot express the love and caring you have poured into Toby. You have given your heart and your all to help him become a better dog. Because of your heart, your all, your love and your caring, you realize that Toby needs a special place just for him. You know him so well.

My heart breaks for you but I understand where you are coming from. Praying he finds a perfect home and that you find healing in your heart over your decision. Take care.

Melissa, I am so sorry to read this. I know you have worked incredibly hard to help Toby through his anxiety and I know you love him with all your heart.

You are doing what is best for him and your family. I hope he finds a great home in a quiet neighborhood with lots of kids to play with him.

Hugs to you and Toby. :hugs

What a difficult decision to make... I know you are thinking of what would be best for Toby....

I pray he finds the perfect fur-ever home....please don't beat yourself up too much...you did the best you could (and even more). I think you are being wise....:hugs

Melissa, when I die, I want to come back as one of your pets . You did a great job with him, more than most! I am sure the new foster family and adoptive family will keep you posted on his progress.

I am so sorry to hear the pain in your writing. You have done so much for Toby and I know that this decision did not come easy. Please keep us posted on what the rescue says in return.

Sorry to hear that you have had to make this decision but it sounds like it will be for the best in the end. You done as much as anybody could ever ask. I'm sure that SOS will work to find a home that might be better suited to his anxiety and you know that they will be careful about doing it. I'm looking at Tinsel and know how horrible I would feel if I had to make the decision you have made. I hope I would be strong enough if I needed to be.

Hi there, just wondering why you decided to switch to Acana from the Orijen? Mine have always eaten Orijen, but I'm a bit disappointed in the way their stools have been lately. Could you tell me about your experience with Orijen? (And anyone else in here that has experienced problems with it).

We switched for a bit lower protein. No poop issues with either.

I can hardly think about it without crying. I feel like I'm betraying his trust, after all we've been through together.

And I'm worried about what rehoming Toby will do to him. I'm afraid that it will undo everything I've worked toward with him.

I haven't heard back from the rescue as to whether I'll be allowed to foster him or not. I really hope I can, I think it would be much less stressful for him if he didn't have to go to another foster home while they screen potential forever homes.

I still can't believe we're not going to be his forever home. Toby can be so exhausting. He requires more attention than my other two shelties combined. But I'm still going to miss him so much.
