Oh dear!

They don't usually last long with Cadbury especially if they have a squeaker because he just has to dig the squeaker out first!

I've yet to find an indestructible toy that has worked on Cadbury yet, except the Boomer ball which he gave up on in disgust when he discovered he couldn't fit it in his mouth.

I have never seen him show such disdain for a ball:no:

Obviously children don't eat their toys (Usually!) and I suppose it stops the toy rotting if it is washed. I don't know where the toys have come from but I would expect it would be the BETTER QUALITY toys that have been treated in this way. It is something they have just started doing, so older toys will probably be safer...
I don't know how much of the stuffing they would need to eat to cause a problem but if the dog is eating even a small quantity at a time it could cause a build up gradually.

Thank you for reposting this! As soon as I read thr first post,then Sophies response,I remembered this warning.Please take heed to it,as we would hate to hear of something terrible happining to any ones babe.
 
Why not try some "skinz" toys.They are no stuffing.That is what all the pups here love.Drs Foster & Smith have a nice variety of these toys,even larger toys,like monkeys,giraffes etc.

A bit pricey,but at least no stuffing to come out.I am a big fan of these.
 
I am just now able to reintroduce stuffed toys to Zak, he in the past would chew on them and eat them, even the skinz ones that he loved he eventually chewed a hole in them. He even was rough on the black kongs. I got a few toys that were supposed to be for power chewers but he still managed to chew those and one in like a half hour. I have never had such a chewer.
I did just leave him out for the first time when I left the house in a while and he did great. Lately when I go out to work in the yard he lays by the door I went out. Hopefully this phase has passed.
 
How well do the stuffingless toys hold up? I'm asking because Wal-Mart has recently started selling an off brand version of this, and I can't tell you how many people have come to the service desk and returned them.

But, they say sometimes that the brand name makes a difference. Like I have heard people on here say to only buy the kong brand and not buy the wal-mart brand kongs, because the wal-mart kongs don't hold up as good. Any thoughts on that?


That makes me mad that they put fungus killing stuff in children's toys! Really! :mad: That's just plain terrible! They don't do this in the US, do they? Both of my cousins have smaller children (all under the age of 5), and I don't want them to get sick!
 
The stuffingless toys we have have held up pretty well, both the skinz versions as well as the wal-mart versions, although the one they did manage to tear apart was a walmart version so ther may be some quality issues there.With the smaller dogs I think they stand up well even with jake our old BC they stood up well he really didn't pull at them to much but he used to shake the living Heck out of them at times I used to think he was gonna break his stupid neck he would get going so fast. Rockey likes to remove and eat sqeekers so we usually take them out first and then resew them up sqeekerless one less thing to worry about.

Orka dog toys are incredibly chew-resistant. It's all we can give Beckon because he eats stuffed animals. He loves them -- and you can find them at PetSmart and petCo.
 
MMM has this fluffy flimsy made stuffed blue dog bone that someone gave him the first week he was home with us, and he has loved it this whole year through. Never chewed into it, brought it to me when it got a small hole in it and I fixed it for him and then......................

We moved down here with the Tucker dog who LOVES LOVES LOVES to chew toys up and McKinley being totally in awe of Tucker and thinks he is just the grandest thing since mini bite kibble was invented, has decided that CHEWING up toys is just the bestest fun ever!!!

We have been here just a meager 2 1/2 weeks and the two dogs have gone through 5 toys.

We need something that they cannot chew up!
