Ah! I understand now! It's not the pants themselves you need trimmed, but underneath the tail.
What you need is the "poop chute". Do a search for it in the forum - there's been lots of discussion about it.
What did you think I was talking about?!

What I was trying to get across is that he needs the area thinned out so that when he goes to the bathroom stuff doesn't get caught in his fur. It gets caught in his fur which makes it very difficult to brush (also nasty
).

I'm back from the groomer! I had ANOTHER flat tire! ARG!Like I'm not broke enough already. Then Smudge and I got lost and it took us almost an hour and a half to find the place! Turns out I was on the wrong side of town. I felt really stupid when I figured out where it was at.
I met a blue merle for the first time! Smudge met four shelties and two collies. He sat cowering while they sniffed him. The girl collie kept following him. I had forgotten how big collies get!
Here's Smudge the fluffed up puppy. The only thing she done was trim his nails, give him a bath, clean his ears, give him a small cut on the pants, and cut a few hairs around his ears. Then she fluffed. him. up.
Almost every picture I take of Smudge's pants will be by the front door, because it's the only place I can get him to turn around and stand still.

See. There was nothing to worry about. You know I wouldn't let anybody cut a huge chunk of Smudge's fur off! You can't beat a $20 groom!
