Sick little girl

Liam was on his own when he was kept overnight before his surgery. If the vet had felt it was imperative someone be there, he would have stayed himself, as he has in the past.

Hoping to hear good news tomorrow.

Talked to the tech and she had vomited a small amount. Then I called the vet at home (she's a neighbor of my mom's) and she said they would probably do x-rays again tomorrow to see if anything showed. She said the dark brown vomit led her to believe obstruction. Now I'm more worried than before. I guess there's nothing to do but wait. She said they only did the ultrasound to see if anything "popped" out at them but not to rely on it to rule out obstruction.

I'm sorry about your baby, I wish they could talk to us and tell us what's wrong with them. I hope she's better soon

I'm waiting to get a call from the tech that will go in to do a final check for the evening. I was also surprised that no one comes in at least once more before morning. The vet said the worst thing that could happen is that she knocks the catheter out and disrupts the fluids until morning.

I am having a hard time knowing she's there alone, but trying to convince myself that she is so exhausted (and drugged up with the anti-nausea meds) that she will sleep well tonight. The vet was confident that she would rest and be fine, so I will trust that.

Tomorrow morning can't get here fast enough so that they are all back in the office.

Seems like most vet hospitals don't have 24 hour care-even emergency hospitals. Our practice doesn't and none of the other 's in our area do either.

We have them in Nj, a lot of good that will do u in GA. Don't worry our pups are tougher then we think. It will be a longer night for you then Scout :) sending prayers and loving thoughts your way.

Yes, it has already been a long night and it's not even 10:30. I need to suck it up and be strong! She'll be fine.

Penny I am sending prayers all will be well with your precious Scout, I can only imagine how you feel knowing Scout is alone. Hugs to both of you. :hugs
