Thanks for the update, Penny. I'm glad that Scout is stable at the moment and weathered the night. Our prayers continue to be with her, and with you.

All paws and hands are folded in prayer, praying for Scouts speedy recovery.

After staring at the phone all day, the doctor just called. Scout is hanging in there. Her white cell count is higher, which helps fight the infection. Her platelet count is low, she said par for the course, her albumin is low - doing its best to rid the infection.

She is on a cocktail of antibiotics and painkillers, plus plasma. She has not vomited and does not have a fever. She has shown no interest in eating yet.

The doctor encouraged family to come visit, as it will help perk her up, and maybe we can get her to eat where she won't for them.

She is a fighter. Thank you to all of you. I know for a fact that your prayers helped her get through last night. Keep sending them please, it means so much.

I am encouraged that she has made it this far and that she is continuing to fight. Hopefully seeing you will help her.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. It is such a worry. My vet did a similar operation on a dog - the dog pulled through and is doing just great. It will take a few days for her to perk up. It is a great trauma she has been through.

I a sure seeing all of you will help Scout tremendously. Will keep you all in my prayers, and sending positive thoughts directly to Scout. Hang tough, Scout needs you :)

Just got back from the visit. She came over and seemed to perk up a little when she saw us. She is just so weak. She was not interested in the least in the baby food we tried to give her (one was ham, one was beef, one turkey vienna sausage). We'll bring some different flavors tomorrow and try again. She really needs to eat.
