It's getting closer!
Thought I would ressurect this thread to again touch base with everyone about southern sheltie gathering.
Those that are coming, could you give me a count of how many puppers will be traveling with you that day.
As I need to have some sort of count for dog gift bags & treats.
The shirts are ready,I do need to get with shirt city, and pay for all of them.I decided to wait,as there could be more orders requested. But Wayne told me to let him know, and he will even deliver them to me.
Those that inquired about over night stays at accomodations here in Cheraw,I hope that you had no problems in your reservations.
A couple of things I wanted to touch base on:
When you arrive that day,you will notice our house has two entry doors. One is directly coming onto the sunporch, the other is coming into formal living room.
We ask that everyone please park at the entry that comes into living room. There is plenty of room(lots of grass area),plus it will give easier access to the gated area where canopies will be up for shade & tables will be there on that end of the yard.We will be setting tables, awnings, etc for ample shade for everyone.
And this will make it easier to unload your vehicles of dogs, coolers, etc.
The entry door to the sunporch, will be blocked off~
We will be putting up things to cover the full glass doors,to help keep it shaded, the air will be on out there, plus the air here in the house.
I want to keep those doors on the sunporch closed as much as possible to prevent AC from being lost.
All dogs, owners will have access to the house for shade,or rest times.I do have gates,so if need be to seperate puppers, thats no problem.I do have 2 wire crates, plenty of bedding for them also.
It is a 95% chance Earnhardt will spend most of the day inside,he does not handle heat well. But then again he may surprise me,and want to keep watch of all the shelties here.
I ask that for the first time, your dog meets Earnhardt, that they be on leash,as he will be also.We will do intros,no differant than I normally do with him.We will do intros outside with him.
I ask that no one touch his head, ears, unless he comes to you, just let him be.If you have a treat to offer during intro, that would help.
He will be excited, and probably confused as to what is happining, until everyone gets settled. Once everyone is here, and settled he will be just fine.
