Teenage Phase

The zoomies happen here every night ,usually after they eat supper. We do go out at least twice morning and evening,and burn off steam playing fetch.

I know it really helps to settle him in for the night. And he is not hyper really much during the day. I think if he did not have Earnie here,he would be a real handful keeping him busy~

Trapp has been napping since shortly after Brian left for work,(6:30) and I had to wake him up here about 15 minutes ago,for last call. But he will come right in,and settle for the night. It's when he is wanting some cuddling and brushing. He really looks forward to it every night.

I just had to play an indoor game of disc with Phebe to make up for the fact that she didn't get any apple pie.

I think if she were given the choice of a chicken leg or a bowl of sliced fruit, she would probably choose the fruit. She LOVES fruit and the second I pulled the pie out of the fridge, she was front and center.

That's so sweet.

I know what you mean about Earnie helping out. That's why I really would like to get a brother for Phebe. She could definitely use one. We took an hour-long walk this morning, played fetch for about 30 minutes at home, Mike played tag with her on the stairs for about 20 minutes and I just did another 20 minutes of disc with her. She's outside for a break right now, and will probably still be ready for more when she comes in.
 
Oh no, a teenager and a cold winter - I would be going nuts too!

Both mine 'marked' the start of adolescence with a piddle! Must be like a universal sign of trouble to come. I walked mine for about 3-4hrs a day during the worst of their teens - I figured a tired teenager would be better, but have you ever tried to tire out a young sheepdog! I slept well tho (lol)
 
I wish I had the time to walk her for 3 hours. It is possible that she was just going stir crazy. I hadn't walked her in a week because she was just spayed. That could also be the reason why she had an a few accidents in the house. The uterus is under the bladder and can irritate a little after a spay.

She was just such a terror on Saturday and a complete angel when my friends were over yesterday. She's making me sound crazy.

Then she asked to go out, I let her out and then 5 minutes later she asked to go out again. I let her out again. This went on 2 more times. So, by the 4th time I ignored her and she peed in my room. Are you sure she doesn't have a UTI? They feel like they need to go all the time.

If Bailey is like Meggie, the teenage phase will be short lived. I do remember thinking, "what happened to my sweet little girl?" But she calmed down, although never back to exactly where she was. She just grew up and was, let's say, more self-confident!

It's always a possibility. She did have a chronic UTI as a puppy. She was much better yesterday. No accidents. I think it might have been because she was just spayed and sometimes they lose a little bladder control for a few days.
If it continues this week, then I will bring in a urine sample when her stitches get removed this weekend.

Try putting them on tables, then tying dust cloths over her feet. Poof -- instant housekeeper! :winkgrin:
