Throwing up

She has been so distraught! She slept with me on the couch for awhile, and then laid next to the door hoping he would come home. It was really sad. She also would wander around the house and whine. She definitely can't figure out why Bentley isn't here.

That's crazy! And you're right! We are lucky something showed up on the x-ray (I'm not even sure what showed) because the leather didn't show at all.

DH and I just stopped by to see him and my poor baby looked so sad. He was totally out of it (didn't even know I was there) but I petted him and talked to him and told him I would come visit him again tomorrow.

We also got to see a full ziploc bag (sandwich size) of the leather he ate. Apparently it was only 1/4 of what they pulled out. I still don't know what it was from. The leather box he ate was small (1/2 the size of a shoe box), and he only ate maybe 1/2 the top. We may never know.

Oh, I'm betting he knew you were there ;-). It's good he's all drugged up though..it will make the stay easier on him. I wonder if you'll be able to keep him on meds to calm him down when he gets home. He may want to go nutso with Lexi and I'm sure he'll need to be kept from himself..so to speak ;-).

Okay...gross ? here, but can you post a picture of the baggie of goods?? hahaha... It's amazing what these little ones put in their tummies! I once told our vet he should have a board with pictures of all the things he's removed from the puppers that come through there with odd appetites! lol

Nope..you may never know..but I"m banking some day you'll miss whatever it was. Then..a bell will ring ;-).. Maybe it's more fitting to say..."a bark will sound" ;-)

I will take a picture and post it  We didn't bring it home, but they'll give it to us when we pick Bentley up. And don't worry, it's all cleaned off so it's not gross (only if you really think about it)

I am so happy you got to go see him, hopefully you will rest easy tonight unless Lexi keeps you up. Good gosh they must of pulled alot of stuff out of him, wonder if there was something else he got besides the box? He sure will be watched like a hawk now- Sorry Bentley but you have to be a good boy now and no more of this eating junk.
I would like to see a picture too. I am sure he knew you were there, he could smell you and feel you loving touch. Hope he has a good night.

Amazing story. I'm so glad the surgery is over and went well. Keeping fingers crossed for a steady recovery.

On another note, I guess this thread and the one about Edan are reminders that puppies don't have an exclusive on chewing and swallowing things around the house.

I know you'll be glad to get Bentley home as soon as feasible.

Happy to hear that Bentley is recovering. Maybe you can get some rest before your patient comes home. I guess that we all need to be more watchful about what the pups pick up and eat.
Continued recovery

Bentley just wanted an iron stomach like his sis. But that leather was soooo tasty :eek2:

I hide my race gloves from Sca bigtime. They have carbon fiber knuckles that I am sure would be terrible for him.

Heal quick Mr Bentley.

lol... I'll be looking forward to it. I still have the leash from our boy. I know it's weird..but since going through his loss, I just can't part with it. Of course, it's all cleaned off too.. It's not like I have it displayed or anything. I just keep it with all his papers, etc.

Glad to hear that Bentley had a successful surgery and I send best wishes for a quick and complete recovery. Hugs to everyone in the family.
