Tully's not doing well

when Gavin was going through radiation, we spen a lot of time cuddling.
He would be drugged up a bit becuase of the radiation burn, and we would nap together on the couch. Gavin laying completely on top of me.
Was the only way I could have him coneless, otherwise he could have licked his leg. I know it helped me more than him, but I loved the bond we developed.
I know Tully loved the time you had together napping.

I don't want to jinx us, because she did have a bad morning, but this afternoon Tully seemed to pick up. This evening she had a potter around the backyard, ate all her dinner - even licked the bowl - and then gave me a toy. A toy usually means she's happy. Now I just need to hear bark and I'll know she's on the mend.

I know we have a long way to go, but gosh this little girl amazes me.

In the meantime I have a very bored puppy, no one would play with her today, I guess Della and the cats realised how sick Tully is. Lucky it was a nice day and Kismet spent most of it digging holes in the backyards

I'm so glad to hear that, Caro. If she gets through the rough patch, I really think you'll see a marked difference in her without the gallbladder issue. I'm praying that's the case.

Oh, Kismet....you may have a future in construction. Or demolition! At this point, whatever keeps her busy! :)

I am happy to hear your update! It's GOOD news. After all, she's a senior dog, with other issues, who's just had major surgery. So it will be small steps but I am hopeful she will be much more stable once she heals.

I read an idea about stopping digging once, don't know how practical it is - but you bury balloons with water in them in the area they like to dig and the theory is if they pop the balloon and get a shot of water it will scare them off from digging. Of course then you have a wet and dirty dog.....:uhoh:

That's an idea - wonder if it can be done with something other than balloons. There was a Kelpie on Tully's flyball team that was scared of balloons and a lot of our shows/trials are outdoors at Agricultural shows and there were always balloons. Kismet, bless her, is a skitty thing atm. Someone suggested putting poo in the holes - but there are so many holes and, well the cats kind of already do that and it's more like a treasure hunt then (and we know it's a slippery slope to coprophilia) :biggrin2:. Wonder if I could bury a bark collar...?
