University of Georgia for diagnostic testing

We had Brooke on Yunan Baio which is basically your turkey tail mushrooms but comes in a capsule or powder and can be gotten on Amazon. Her dose was 3 caps morning and night to control the bleeding. There is also an "emergency" small red pill in each blister pack. If they have breakthrough bleeding that the normal dose does not control. We did have to use this during the last weeks, and it did work. And when it didn't, is when she passed. Save those small pills just in case; we put them in a small bottle to have handy.

We simply mixed it into a tablespoon or so of canned pumpkin and she ate it on top of her food.

I'm glad to hear he is feeling just a bit better. It is a roller coaster ride. I truly hope you have more time to love on each other.

I'm so glad to hear that you are helping Justus be comfortable. I'm also glad that you are setting an emotional boundary for yourself (no canine cancer FB groups). You are taking good care of your boy and of yourself!

I second Sharon's recommendation of the Yunan Baio. We used it for one of our rats who had bleeding associated with cancer, on the recommendation of our western-medicine-oriented exotics vet. It seemed to help him a lot. We just opened a capsule and mixed half the contents into pudding twice a day (for a 700g rat).

I 100% agree with Megan on this...it is so important to set those boundaries to choose carefully where you spend any online communication and to stay focused as you can on positive thoughts. There will be good days and some down days as you and Justus make this journey together. Hang onto those good days and the memories they will give you to cherish. I know this is such a bittersweet time, but Justus will enjoy every good day and that is what is most important right now. Please know that you remain in our thoughts and prayers.

I can not say it any better Trini did! I am just so glad this community can offer help, support, and resources to assist both of you through this difficult journey! Hugs

Today is a big day. Today there is a lot I am asking of myself and my dogs. Justus is doing okay, the tumor is getting larger but he is fine, even chasing the ball and initiating play with Flyer.

Today, I get a new puppy. I've been so torn apart but have a valid argument on either side and the side that won was, get the puppy.

Every day is a gift, make the most of it....

Welcome to your new addition and continued prayers that your beloved Justus will have many more good days/weeks/months to enjoy life.

Awww....the puppy will bring new life to Justus and new hope for you. Enjoy and can’t wait to see pictures.

Things just happen in the most unexpected way. I hope you are able to enjoy the new addition with no regrets. A wise person once told me to make hard decisions based on love, not fear. It sounds like you have done that. A bit of a roller coaster journey for you, I know. I had a similar situation when we got
Faith unexpectedly just a month after my beloved Asta suddenly passed.

I truly hope Justus will have more good quality time with you all.

A new bundle of fluff and mischief may be just what you need. Photos, please, when you have time! :hugs
