Wait... what? Puppy?

Well, I was a bit worried I must admit, but Elijah seems to be thawing a bit. He actually tolerated her jumping on him with her two front feet on his back. He had been snarling and snapping at her occasionally. Now he's not as nervous I can tell. Can't say he loves her but I'm glad he's not so bummed out. She laid down next to him yesterday and he did not get up and walk away. By the time I got the camera out she was sitting up, but you can tell they are next to each other.

Eleven weeks old today, 7lb 10oz, and just about 11 inches tall. She's on the outside curve for size right now which is fine. At her vet visit she was very brave about everything. Vet couldn't say enough nice things about her, then they took her in the back to show her off and they were gone so long I wasn't sure I was getting her back! :ROFLMAO:

It is her puppy enthusiasm that will win Elijah over eventually. In my experience it is harder to get two Shelties "together" when there is a larger difference in years. The first dog sees his/her territory invaded, status challenged (puppies know no boundaries- bless em for that) and he does have to establish "I am the boss here" attitude which takes snarls and turned backs and other dog put downs. I am guessing when she gets a little older, knows her place better and settles down a bit they will be best buds. And it will be so nice to have someone who understands "my" language thing going on. She is a cutie tho and she knows it.
