Oh no no! I don't think you quite understand.. I WANT a coarse coat! I don't want it to change, that's why I'm asking!
btw....I hate the word "coarse" because implies not soft. Petting a Sheltie is always soft. But I don't know what better word to describe a proper Sheltie coat. Except to say, when you pet your dog, you should feel the fur beneath your hand, not as soft blanket, but as a linen towel. Still soft and flexible but sturdy.
Does this make any sense to anyone?

This is how I feel. Puppy coats versus adults are so much different. Ruutu now has a "coarse" coat, but I feel like this is my first sheltie in a long time that I've had a coarse coated sheltie. Honey is all poof, feels as soft as a blanket. Boy is coarse a lot different to bathe. I'm glad it's the correct way, but geesh it's a pain to brush.You can't really compare a puppy's coat to an adult dog's coat.
Is there anyway you can tell what it will be like? I'd everything pans out I might show her..
