Why will Monty only drink milk

He has grown in confidence so much in his couple months with me, I'm starting to get worried about just how mischievious he is going to be once he is fully settled into his forever home :lol:

For example (might be outdated rules) if he is a frog hair under 12" that would round down then subtract 5 for a 6" jump height which I think is minimum. Of course the 16" Border Collies get his height which is easier on them and faster in most cases. Spitfire is a head case but the team was REALLY looking forward to him as a height dog though it did not work (he is super OCD and the chaos and change was to much for him).

Thanks, that's actually great to know and they do training classes for this only 5 miles away from me. Once I get him used to bigger dogs and to stop bulling smaller dogs I'm going to take him for a few classes. He needs a hobby as if I ignore him for just two seconds, he gets into trouble :lol:Monty 11.jpg
 
If you wanted to bring Monty and hang out to watch training I bet they would be thrilled to have you and tell you how things work. Not sure where you are at but in addition to NAFA (what we mostly ran) there is UFli which is more popular up north I think. Different rules on height dog but still he would be the little guy. One difference is UFli has singles and doubles which is easier just getting started for some dogs.
 
Never heard of that before. 2% milk and adding more water by the day may work, or the treat in
the water. All my dogs loved water. I believe what was stated your sheltie may have been on milk
where Monty came from.

Well his blood tests all came up good, sooo it looks like milk it is. I tried taking away his metal bowls and he was still not drinking last night or this morning. He lays at the refrigerator crying for his milk so yeah I think I'm just going to give him that for life now. I've tried watering it down a little with bottled water as Sable suggested and he wouldn't drink again. The vet said it shouldn't be an issue as long as it contains as little fat and lactose as possible. He is getting some water from his food at least.

I'm in the UK but I seem to be lucky enough to have a training school just a few miles away. I've emailed them asking if we can have a look around. I think it would be a great way for Monty to...focus his energy ha.

Brodie looks so much fun, I think they would have has so much fun together haha. My previous Sheltie was very chilled out as he had a few medical issues, I'm now seeing what it is like to have a young healthy one, wow what a handful......but I wouldn't have it any other way!

A super cute monster! Love his big eyes. I think some kind of dog sport would be great. Flyball, agility, Nosework. My two LOVE Nosework. It is scent detection training. It wears them out by using their brain. Whatever you choose, I'm sure Monty will be delighted to be learning something and you will be glad when he's tired out a bit! :ROFLMAO:
 
Thanks Sharon, Nosework sounds like fun as well. I'll add that to the list as I want him to try a number of sports/games and then I'll go with what he seems to enjoy most. I think he really does need to have his mind stimulated more than what I'm doing at the minute so that he stays out of trouble :lol:
 
He is looks adorable! I do nose work with Shelby- I think it tires her out more than when we would do physical training. When we 1st started I was surprised at how much it wore her out.
 
Thank you, anything that will get him tired sounds like a winner, I've never known such a small dog have so much energy haha. I think nosework will be the easiest thing to get him started with so I think that is going to be the first thing we try.
