You didn't warn me...

Ahhhh, parents.

This is where I generally say ' So I take it we are looking for an obedience school with a Gifted and Talented program, so she will be properly challenged?'
 - Dr. Mac
LOL !!!!!
I have to admit I am a sheltie snob, but try not to show it. Actually my german shepherd was smarter (sorry, she was). It doesn't matter, because Sandstorm is smart too, and easy to train!

Ahh Sophie, the wonderful world of a dog as smart as the owner.

We did tell you though.............remember McKinley and Me?

To this very day, when I say "COME' this little monkey promptly sits his bum down and waits for me to come pick him up, because that is what I accidentally taught him at 10 and 12 weeks old!

Shelties will out think you, out smart you, out maneuver you, out run you and basically, out Fox you completely, never a dull or slow day with them.

Be very, very, very careful what you think is cute today, for tomorrow you may rue the smile.

But you are a very wise dog owner, and I am sure little Merlin will be the best!

Oh and unlike most dogs if you doing something and wonder where he is, look behind you  Sca does this all the time to me and sometimes will even walk around as I turn to check.

Let me tell you a little story about Rascal. Several years ago I rented a video game disc for my playstation. Well needless to say I was ignoring him while playing it. So, the next morning I go to work. When I come home I notice a disc on the concrete in the patio. I walk right by it without really thinking what it was. Well Rascal runs out and greets me and after a few minutes of hugs and petting we go inside. That's when I notice. That little bugger figured out how to open up the playstation and removed the disk and chewed it up. I couldn't believe it. Serves me right for ignoring my little buddy.

you did not tell me

these are the types of threads that make sheltie nation so special.
each post makes me smile more and more.
the faulks:smile2:

One thing which impressed me with Dylan when on his lead is that if he's heading towards the wrong side of a lampost or anything similar, he will automatically correct where he's going to avoid the lead getting caught. Maybe not the biggest deal in the world, but it's the first time I've walked a dog who's done that.

I got him one another of those Nina Ottosson toys recently - supposedly one of the more difficult ones - and he had it sussed almost straight away.

LOL those are the exact words our breeder told us one day. Some days as puppies you just can't help but let them get away with any thing since they are just to cute then there is also that puppy smell....ahhh!!

....

IN her housecoat she taught him that! I still remember that thread ::lol:

hahaha, the oafy Labs :)
I love them, they are just the sweetest and kindest dogs, but omg frustrating how brain kicks in only after the fact LOL
LOL
I like Dr Mac's suggestion of gifted and talented school.. hahahha.. bet that would be full of our Shelties (but not Ember...) LOL

I'm still picturing Cadbury jumping off the edge of that cliff rolling down, and then casually getting to his feet and smiling at you.

Lol, I'm loving all these stories! I think I have adventures ahead! I have to keep on my toes as Merlin has already twigged the things he mustn't chew that will get my attention when I am busy:rolleyes2:

Fortunately my brain is slowly returning from the puppy fug and remembering that I need to start asking for some manners. So last night when he tried to jump on my lap I asked him to do a sit first before I picked him up, and he already does his 'sit, wait' for his food.

Of course he did bark through half of Cadbury's obedience class yesterday because he had to sit in his crate and just watch. He was thoroughly indignant about being left out!

I've noticed that! I thought I was going crazy! I am forever turning around in a circle looking for him only to find him sat in front of me:uhoh:
